Disney Lays Out Plans for 'Cruella,' 'Jungle Book 2,' 'A Wrinkle In Time,' and More Live-Action Remakes

Posted: 25 Apr 2016 10:00 PM PDT

Disney's track record with remaking their classic animated films into live-action hits for a new generation is perhaps one of the best hot streaks in the business. They've not only made a ton of money doing so, but the movies themselves are actually becoming increasingly wonderful. Most recently The Jungle Book, directed by Jon Favreau, blew the whole world away with its stunning visual effects, delivering a truly big screen experience. The studio already has a number of other live-action remakes in the works, but today they announced even more. Here's their future line-up. Alice Through the Looking Glass - Directed by James Bobin, starring Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska Pete's Dragon - Directed by David Lowery Beauty and the Beast - Directed...

It's 'The Ring' vs 'The Grudge' In Ridiculous First Trailer for a Totally Real Movie

Posted: 25 Apr 2016 08:30 PM PDT

Last year on April 1st, Juon-Movie.jp, the official Japanese site for the hit horror franchise, posted a teaser for a crossover between The Grudge and The Ring. At the time it seemed like it was purely an April Fools' joke, but the Internet kind of embraced the idea. It's hard to tell if it became an actual movie because of the joke's popularity, or if they just wanted to mess with people by announcing the movie on April Fools' day, but it's now been a year and we have an actual trailer for Sadako vs. Kayako, which is indeed a real movie. If you're not up on your J-horror names, Sadako is the dead girl at the bottom of the well in The Ring, while Kayako is the name of the young woman from The Grudge who torments anyone who stays in the house she and...

Watch the Trailer for 'Weiner,' One of the Best Documentaries of the Year

Posted: 25 Apr 2016 07:00 PM PDT

Not enough documentary trailers are as excitable as the new spot for Weiner. This film, the feature debut of of Elyse Streinberg and Josh Kriegman, definitely deserves to be marketed so well, not just because it's one of the best nonfiction features of the year but also because it is indeed as fast-paced and funny as it looks. The name in the title belongs to Anthony Weiner, the former U.S. congressman who resigned amid a sexting scandal. He allowed cameras to follow him in 2013 as he attempted a comeback run for mayor of New York City (Kriegman had previously worked for Weiner as an aide), and as you might know from the news of the time, that didn't go so well. The trailer hints at some of the best parts of the documentary where Weiner seems to question why he agreed...

Watch: 'Krampus' Blooper Reel Has Fun While Making a Twisted Horror Movie

Posted: 25 Apr 2016 05:45 PM PDT

Krampus is a fun horror movie. Sure, it's scary. Sure, its creature designs are probably going to traumatize an entire generation of kids who watch the movie with older siblings and have Christmas icons ruined for them forever. Sure, it's going to make even grownups suspicious of snowmen. But it's still a fun movie. That's the magic trick writer-director Michael Dougherty (Trick 'r Treat) seems to effortlessly pull off with his movies. He knows the audience has to be able to laugh, they have to have some kind of release while watching messed up imagery in order to go along for some of the wilder parts of the ride. And apparently part of the secret of that trick is making sure your cast and crew are having a good time. It's only a little more than a...

See the Final 'X-Men: Apocalypse' Trailer, Plus New Images Featuring Angel vs. Blob and More

Posted: 25 Apr 2016 01:00 PM PDT

As the conclusion of a trilogy, the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse must meet expectations that were initially raised by Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class. Vaughn's reboot of the X-Men series was almost universally acclaimed for its breezy wit and snappy action, while Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past dug deeper into the mythology of the mutant heroes and villains. Of course, Singer guided X-Men and X2: X-Men United to great success some years ago and now he finally has the opportunity to bring a new part of the story to a grand conclusion. The first two trailers brought back some familiar characters and introduced new mutants, most notably the so-called "first mutant," played by Oscar Isaac. They also set the extremely dark and appropriately...
