Watch 'Big Significant Things' Clip Finds Intimacy In the Small Things (Exclusive)

Posted: 22 Jul 2015 09:00 PM PDT

Even though a lot of people may not instantly recognize the name Harry Lloyd, anyone who watched the first season of Game of Thrones couldn't possibly forget him as Viserys Targaryen. Lloyd gave the brother of Daenerys that despicably perfect blend of smarm and venom that stood out on a show filled with both those qualities. Watch 'Big Significant Things' Clip Finds Intimacy In the Small Things (Exclusive) But as good as Lloyd is at making audiences hate him, his new movie Big Significant Things, directed by Bryan Reisberg, proves that he's just as good at making audiences like him. In it he stars as a guy in his mid-20s who has a bit of an impulsive moment where he decides to take a road trip the week before he's set to start a new life with his...

'Jurassic World' Passes 'The Avengers' As 3rd-Highest-Grossing Movie of All Time

Posted: 22 Jul 2015 07:45 PM PDT

Is this when superhero movies cease their heydey and Hollywood begins focusing on more and more dinosaur blockbusters? According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jurassic World has just passed The Avengers to become the third-highest-grossing movie of all time, worldwide. That makes it the top-grossing movie not directed by James Cameron, whose Avatar and Titanic place at the number one and number two spots, respectively. The current global box office tally for the Jurassic Park sequel is $1.522 billion.  We should make a joke about how Jurassic World is running pretty far and fast in spite of its wearing high heels. There is something to say for the success of a movie that hasn't had a totally favorable lasting reception this summer. And the heels are one of the big...

Update: Dwayne Johnson Will Battle Giant Monsters in 'Rampage' for 'San Andreas' Director

Posted: 22 Jul 2015 06:00 PM PDT

Update 7/22/15: It's now being reported that Rampage will be directed by Brad Peyton, who last teamed with Dwayne Johnson on the hit earthquake movie San Andreas.   Previously: In the classic arcade game Rampage, users would be able to control one of three monsters -- a giant lizard, a giant gorilla or a giant wolf -- as they climb up various buildings and destroy cities. You were in charge of wrecking said buildings as these monsters while avoiding those trying to stop you, but in the upcoming movie adaptation -- in the works for a few years now --  it'll be the other way around. With San Andreas grossing over $400 million proving Dwayne Johnson might be today's hottest action star, it's no wonder others are itching to sign him up for more big...

Watch: 'One and Two' Trailer Introduces Two Kids With a Very Special Ability

Posted: 22 Jul 2015 03:30 PM PDT

I'm hesitant to even share this trailer for One and Two because the best way to see it is without really knowing anything about it. That's how I came across it at the South by Southwest Film Festival earlier this year, when some friends were raving about it and all they'd say was "It's about two kids with special abilities." So when Andrew Droz Palermo's movie shows off those "special abilities" for the first time, it came as a pretty big surprise. Admittedly the movie doesn't hide their abilities. They're not some last minute plot twist, they're the entire impetus for the story about two special kids (Kiernan Shipka and Timothee Chalamet) growing up on an isolated farm who start to challenge their overbearing father's...

'Mississippi Grind' Trailer: See What Everyone Was Raving About at Sundance

Posted: 22 Jul 2015 01:45 PM PDT

Every year there are a few clear winners that emerge from Sundance, and this year there one of those was Mississippi Grind. More specifically, people couldn't stop raving about star Ben Mendelsohn's performance as a gambling addict who tries to make one last, big run of things after he befriends someone he thinks is lucky (played by Ryan Reynolds). It only takes a few seconds of the trailer to see why everyone was heaping on the Mendelsohn love (which will only continue to rise, consider he was next cast in Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One). He looks positively magnetic as a likable but self-destructive gambler who just cannot keep things under control. And in strolls Ryan Reynolds, looking charmed and pained at the same time. The movie looks quite good, but even if the...

Watch: First Full 'Spectre' Trailer Digs Even Deeper Into James Bond's Past

Posted: 22 Jul 2015 03:25 AM PDT

The first full trailer for Spectre has arrived online and it's packed with plenty of style, intrigue, explosions and make-out sessions. It is a James Bond movie, after all. Check it out below. Taking a page out of Skyfall's handbook, Spectre looks to dig even deeper into James Bond's past by tying him directly to the shadowy organization he's looking to take down, lead by Christoph Waltz, who comes off rather calm and smooth in this trailer even though we know there's an underlying evil there that will probably present itself in some pretty devilish ways.  Oh, and how about that helicopter moment? Pretty cool, eh? But does it top Bond making out with Monica Bellucci? That's for you to decide. Spectre hits the UK on October 26 and US theaters...
