Ranking the Leading Men of the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Posted: 17 Jul 2015 08:30 PM PDT

In Ant-Man, Paul Rudd becomes the latest leading man to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe and he fits right in. Like the other superheroes in this special club, he's charming and good looking and an undeniably wonderful screen presence. If nothing else, Marvel Studios knows how to cast these movies. They've yet to put anyone less than fantastic in a major role. But we're still going to rank all of the MCU leading men because this is the internet and that is what we do. We graded them on a 1-10 scale in five categories: costume (how cool they look and how well they dress), charisma (how much they own the screen), sexiness (self-explanatory), tortured heroism (how hard they fight in the face of great personal odds), and badass abilities (simply how cool their super...

Great Scott! The 'Back to the Future' Trilogy Returns to Theaters This Fall

Posted: 17 Jul 2015 07:00 PM PDT

Back to the Future will never get a reboot. At least not while director Robert Zemeckis and screenwriter Bob Gale are alive. But why should it? The 1985 time-travel classic and its two sequels continue to find new fans, and its original following is a devoted bunch. All Universal has to do is re-release the trilogy every once in a while -- maybe appropriately every 30 years -- and it could make a fair amount of money without the bother of paying for all new productions.  Fortunately, such a re-release is happening this fall, according to /Film. While the 30th anniversary of the first movie came and went earlier this month, the studio has decided to commemorate a different date for the franchise: October 21, 2015. That's the day Doc, Marty and Jennifer traveled to...

Exclusive: Watch a Funny Clip From 'Samba' That Brings Back a Classic '90s Ad

Posted: 17 Jul 2015 06:00 PM PDT

Are classic commercials for Coca-Cola products in vogue this year? The finale of Mad Men had us all recalling the famous "Buy the World a Coke" jingle from the 1970s, and now we have an exclusive clip from the topical new French film Samba that pays tribute to a 1998 ad for Diet Coke. Do you remember the one with the office full of woman gazing at a hardbodied window washer enjoying a soft drink? If you do, you'll easily appreciate the below scene from the new movie from Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano, the guys who made The Intouchables.    And here's the alluded-to ad:   Samba is already a success overseas, grossing almost $40 million since debuting in France and Belgium last fall. As you can see in the...

F.A.O. Schwarz and 9 Other Iconic Movie Locations You Can No Longer Visit

Posted: 17 Jul 2015 04:00 PM PDT

Whether you're a tourist just visiting or a resident of New York City, everyone loves spotting the many movie locations around the Big Apple. There's the Ghostbusters firehouse, the bench near the Queensboro Bridge from Woody Allen's Manhattan (and now Trainwreck), Katz's Deli because of When Harry Met Sally and of course the F.A.O. Schwarz housing the giant floor piano in Big. Well, unfortunately the last of those iconic sites is no longer a possible attraction for movie fans. While the building still stands for now, the famous toy store just shut its doors this week. After 27 years of drawing in fans, who'd regularly show off their own "Chopsticks" skills, a la Tom Hanks and Robert Loggia, but maybe not to spend any money on the products for sale...

First 'The Revenant' Trailer: Leonardo DiCaprio Fights a Bear and Tom Hardy

Posted: 17 Jul 2015 02:30 PM PDT

Alejandro González Iñárritu's follow-up to Birdman popped up in the news earlier this year when it was learned that one of its stars, Tom Hardy, had to drop out of taking a major role in Suicide Squad because the shoot on The Revenant was taking much longer than originally expected. And the reason it was taking longer is because Iñárritu insisted on filming it in the actual remote wilderness using no artificial lighting, only whatever nature allowed for that day. As you can tell from the first stunning trailer for it, it was well worth the challenge. Inspired by a true story, The Revenant tells of explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) who is attacked by a bear and then left for dead by John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy) and their hunting...

See New Art Featuring Ellen Ripley from Neill Blomkamp's 'Alien' Sequel

Posted: 17 Jul 2015 01:30 PM PDT

It's been a couple months since we last received word on that new Alien sequel in the works from director Neill Blomkamp (Chappie, District 9). Similarly to Deadpool, this is another Fox movie that seems to be happening thanks entirely to fan support. With Deadpool it was an overwhelmingly positive reaction to leaked footage that eventually got that movie going, and with this new Alien sequel it was essentially Blomkamp-created fan art that fans jumped on, convincing Fox to make it. To prove it's still happening, Blomkamp revealed another piece of concept art on Instagram -- this one featuring Sigourney Weaver (who's returning as Ripley) standing alongside a scarred Hicks (Michael Biehn). Check it out.   #alien going very well. Love this...
