Dwayne Johnson Will Battle Giant Monsters in 'Rampage' Arcade-Game Adaptation

Posted: 23 Jun 2015 08:30 PM PDT

In the classic arcade game Rampage, users would be able to control one of three monsters -- a giant lizard, a giant gorilla or a giant wolf -- as they climb up various buildings and destroy cities. You were in charge of wrecking said buildings as these monsters while avoiding those trying to stop you, but in the upcoming movie adaptation -- in the works for a few years now --  it'll be the other way around. With San Andreas grossing over $400 million proving Dwayne Johnson might be today's hottest action star, it's no wonder others are itching to sign him up for more big, giant disaster movies. Such is the case with Rampage -- a game that's essentially San Andreas with monsters -- which will star Johnson as a man who battles those rampaging monsters in some...

New 'Hitman: Agent 47' Trailer Introduces a Female Assassin

Posted: 23 Jun 2015 07:00 PM PDT

Update 6/23/15: A new trailer for Hitman: Agent 47 has hit online, which still features plenty of action but also introduces a bit more on the plot front. Previously: The Hitman video games are notorious not just for the wide variety of ways you can execute targets, but for making it ridiculously hard to actually pull off your missions in just the right way. They emphasize stealth and planning and methodology over just crazy, over-the-top action. So, naturally, the trailer for the new movie, Hitman: Agent 47 (in theaters August 28), has little stealth, but tons of crazy, over-the-top action. If you have fond memories of the first Hitman movie back in 2007 and wanted to see more stories involving Timothy Olyphant's Agent 47, tough luck, because this is a total restart...

Posted: 23 Jun 2015 04:00 PM PDT

"We're not going to grind this horror franchise into the ground." That's Jason Blum on the Paranormal Activity series, the first installment of which broke him out as one of today's most prominent and prolific producers, particularly of scary movies. The final installment, by this claim, is titled Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, and it's hitting theaters this October. Speaking to USA Today, Blum also promised that the sequel will conclude in a proper way, tying up all loose ends to truly put the franchise to bed. "What does Toby look like? What's the backstory to the families? These questions have been teased out. Now they will be answered," he stated. There could be a reboot down the line, of course, but The...

Meet Your New Spider-Man: Tom Holland to Play the Web-Slinger in New Movie Due in 2017

Posted: 23 Jun 2015 03:29 PM PDT

Following a big search for the next incarnation of Spider-Man, Marvel has officially announced that Tom Holland (The Impossible) -- who just recently teased his acrobatics on Instagram (see pics and videos below) -- has nabbed the much-coveted role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Furthermore, Jon Watts (Cop Car) has been chosen to direct the web-slinger's next solo movie, due out on July 28, 2017. Fans most likely won't have to wait that long to see Holland as Spider-Man, as the character is rumored to be appearing in Captain America: Civil War first, due out on May 6, 2016, as part of a new deal that allows Spider-Man to cross over into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So while he'll have a new solo series that will apparently track Spidey through his high school...

If you spent the greater part of 1991 hip-hoppin' out to Marky Mark Wahlberg's "Good Vibrations," then this one's for you. For the first time in over 20 years, Mark Wahlberg -- whose Ted 2 hits theaters this weekend -- poured some good vibrations all over a recent New Kids On The Block concert at Madison Square Garden when he joined the crew on stage during a semi-performance of Wahlberg's own "Good Vibrations." Here's some fan video of the concert moment, which came right after Biz Markie and 50 Cent also joined the show with performances of "Just a Friend" and "In Da Club," respectively.   Though Wahlberg didn't exactly grab the mic from his brother Donnie and start spittin' out some of those...
