Posted: 19 Jun 2015 09:30 PM PDT

Here are a bunch of little bites to satisfy your hunger for movie culture:   Supercut of the Day: Fandor pays tribute to film fathers, including characters from The Incredibles, The Sound of Music, There Will Be Blood, The Tree of Life and of course Star Wars, in this lengthy video:   Trailer Mix of the Day: Jurassic World would have been a lot better with more cartoon babies. Vin Diesel's 'Kojak' Movie is Back On With a New Writer

Posted: 19 Jun 2015 08:00 PM PDT

Who loves ya, baby? If by baby we mean any of you still waiting for the Vin Diesel Kojak movie, then the answer is Universal Pictures. The studio has put the TV adaptation back on track with a new writer attached. According to Deadline, the next draft will be penned by English playwright Philip Gawthorne, who hasn't really done anything for Hollywood yet, though he's working on a Cube remake for Lionsgate. He also has a feature adaptation of his award-winning stagework Modern Life is Rubbish in the works.  Gawthorne will have to do what a couple of James Bond staples, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, couldn't over the course of two years. The writing duo, who worked on Skyfall, Quantum of Solace, Casino Royale, Die Another...

Posted: 19 Jun 2015 06:30 PM PDT

You've probably been hearing a lot about a little movie called Dope lately, especially as it gears up to hit theaters this weekend. But one thing that's not being talked about as much as it should is the unbelievably dope soundtrack that comes along with the film. And if you're any kind of fan of '90s hip-hop, then let us introduce you to your favorite movie soundtrack of the summer. We're talking Naughty By Nature, A Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy, Digital Underground, and Nas -- not to mention four brand-new songs written by Pharrell Williams and performed by the fictional band in the movie, Awreeoh (pronounced "Oreo"). Go ahead and get yourself some of this...   What is Dope? The best way to describe Dope is to envision...

'Daddy's Home' Trailer: Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg Battle for Father of the Year

Posted: 19 Jun 2015 05:00 PM PDT

Father's Day is this weekend, but if you're a dad who happens to love Will Ferrell comedies, then one gift has come early. It's the first trailer for Daddy's Home, starring Ferrell as a step-dad who thinks he's finally making progress with his wife's kids, only to have their biological dad enter the picture again. That plot may have the makings of a drama, but that's just not the case with Daddy's Home. Mark Wahlberg plays the kids' hunky dad, and their obvious affection for him drives new dad Ferrell crazy. So he does the natural thing and enters an increasingly outlandish battle for the kids' love. But since this is a Will Ferrell comedy, that battle goes a touch beyond just buying the kids a pet. Check it out. Daddy's...

The Latest 'Indiana Jones 5' Rumors Get Swatted Down by Producer Frank Marshall

Posted: 19 Jun 2015 03:30 PM PDT

Back in May Lucasfilm honcho Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that even though she and Disney would certainly like to make more Indiana Jones movies, there was currently no plan to actually do it. Apparently that wasn't definitive enough of an answer, though, because rumors about new Indiana Jones movies keep popping up, the newest one being that Disney has plans for an Indiana Jones in 2018. That's apparently news to Frank Marshall, one of the people who would actually be producing any new Indiana Jones movies (alongside his wife, Kennedy). Slashfilm asked him about the new rumor, and his response was a simple "We've had no discussions on Indy 5 to date." That said, "no discussions" is the crucial word choice here. In Hollywood parlance...

Captain Sully: Tom Hanks is in talks to play Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger for director Clint Eastwood. Sullenberger successfully made an emergency landing of an Airbus A320 in New York's Hudson River after the plane was struck by a flock of geese after takeoff, thereby saving the lives of all 155 people on board. The movie is not yet officially titled, but is based on the book Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters by Sullenberger and Jeffrey Zaslow. [Deadline]   Come and Find Me: Aaron Paul (Need for Speed) will star in Come and Find Me. Zack Whedon has written the screenplay and will make his directorial debut.
