In fact, I watch so many horror movies that I've always assumed that I would survive if I was thrust into one. I know the tropes. I know the cliches. I know the template. Unless a filmmaker decides to throw a fairly crazy curve ball, I can call who will die next, why they will die, and what they should have done if they wanted to survive. I'm a total snob like that. Although the director of A Time to Kill and The Phantom of the Opera was primarily known for crafting darker movies in the mid-1990s, things changed when he was given the keys to the kingdom of DC Comics' Dark Knight. After the somewhat polarizing reception to 1992's Batman Returns, Warner Bros. wanted to take the franchise in a bit of a different direction. Previous series director Tim Burton would transition into a producer capacity for the upcoming third film, and Schumacher was selected to direct what ultimately became 1995's Batman Forever. | Posted: 22 Jun 2015 04:30 PM PDT Who owns the Hulk A lot of fans have been wondering when we'd be getting a new Hulk movie, and while the answer isn't any more definitive today than it was last week, we at least know a few more details about who would actually be releasing the movie, if it were ever made. We already knew that Universal, who put out both the Eric Bana and Edward Norton Hulk movies, still held a claim to the character, but now Forbes is reporting that Universal only has the distribution rights to any hypothetical movies. Or, more specifically, Universal has the rights of first refusal, meaning that if Marvel does ever make another one, Universal gets to decide if they want to release it. He's as easily recognized as Frankenstein and as lovable as E.T. and it's all thanks to a movie that's edgy enough to hook in kids and adults alike. But, in some alternate reality, Gizmo may have traumatized kids. Director Joe Dante, who has the fun new horror comedy Burying the Ex out on VOD now, recently mentioned in a Reddit AMA that they originally had very different plans for Gizmo and that it was producer Steven Spielberg who pushed for the more family friendly mogwai we've all loved for decades.
