Watch: Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain Share Embarrassing Stories About Going to School Together

Posted: 06 Apr 2015 10:00 PM PDT

Did you know Jessica Chastain and Oscar Isaac went to school together? They did, and we've got video proof below. In the relatively short span they've been acting, the two have appeared in a growing number of truly fantastic films from some of the best directors on the planet, but they didn't appear together until 2014's superb A Most Violent Year. In it, Isaac and Chastain play a married couple who each have very different ideas of what it's going to take to elevate their oil business to the next level. Isaac wants to do everything above board and play by the rules. As you can probably guess, Chastain's character doesn't really care about the rules. It's a great movie with great performances from both, and while it was their first...

Arnold Schwarzenegger Admits 'Terminator: Salvation' Stunk; Forgets He Was In It

Posted: 06 Apr 2015 07:45 PM PDT

We're less than three months away from Terminator Genisys hitting theaters and so the marketing machine is shifting into higher gears. The four stars of the new film were recently on Good Morning America to drum up some promotion for the new movie, but in order to do that, one of them had to throw the last movie under the bus. Amusingly enough, it was the original Terminator himself. When asked about his favorite of the franchise, Arnold Schwarzenegger said "all three had their own little personalities and interesting storylines," which is a nice, diplomatic way of not playing favorites. But when the interviewer points out that Arnold wasn't in Terminator Salvation he responds with a blunt "Thank God. It Sucked." What's funny isn't...

Here are a bunch of little bites to satisfy your hunger for movie culture:   The best thing about Saturday Night Live's plea to Michael Keaton to do his iconic characters from Batman and Beetlejuice is Taran Killam as Catherine O'Hara:   See the magic of color correction in this before-and-after side-by-side video of scenes from Lily in the Grinder (via Film School Rejects):   This Guardians of the Galaxy poster in the style of Big Trouble in Little China is by Axel Medellin for a series on comic book characters in classic movie posters. See more at Comic Book Resources.   A Chinese farmer and his son make life-size Transformers out of scrap metal and auto parts and have made a bunch of money selling them (via Design...

First 'Sinister 2' Teaser Has Some Serious Threats to Make

Posted: 06 Apr 2015 04:30 PM PDT

Horror movies can be a very complicated business for the very simple reason that fear is always so subjective. One person can see something and it barely elevates their heart rate, but that same movie can cause someone else to lose sleep for days on end. Having said that, we can all agree the first Sinister is genuinely scary, right? Even if the story of a crime novelist who moves his family into a murdered family's house so that he can write his big comeback book doesn't get to you, director Scott Derrickson's scares are so well crafted they have to earn some kind of physiological response while watching them. They just have to, and I suspect anyone who says otherwise is a bit of a fibber. Now having said all of that, Sinister 2 director Ciarán Foy certainly...

A Real-Life 'Up' House Is for Sale, But You'll Have to Agree to Special Terms To Buy It

Posted: 06 Apr 2015 03:00 PM PDT

Have you heard of Edith Macefield? She's often mistaken as the inspiration for Pixar's Up, but she is at least a lot like the main character from the 2009 animated feature-- enough that Disney used Macefield's home in Seattle for a tie-in promotion. The woman, who died in 2008 at age 86, became famous in her city and worldwide when she refused to accept $1 million for her home, and developers had to build their enormous five-story shopping mall around her tiny, turn-of-the-20th-century farmhouse.  Now, seven years since Macefield's passing, the house still stands in the shadow of the larger structure. And it's reportedly up for sale. The house, which is something of a tourist attraction that encourages fans of Up to leave balloons with notes on the front...

Posted: 06 Apr 2015 01:30 PM PDT

Jurassic World: A new Jurassic World photo teases a connection to the fictional character Dr. Ian Malcolm. In a social media message, his book God Creates Dinosaurs is shown, along with the message "The hunt is on. Happy Easter from Isla Nubar." [Coming Soon]   The Flash: Reportedly, Phil Lord and Chris Miller are now under consideration to direct one of two franchise movies, either DC's The Flash for Warner Bros. or Ghostbusters (the new upcoming male version) for Sony.
