Watch: Marvel's 'Ant-Man' Reveals Its First Teaser Trailer Posted: 06 Jan 2015 11:03 PM PST When it comes to Marvel's Ant-Man -- due in theaters July 17, two months after Avengers: Age of Ultron -- we wouldn't be surprised if the filmmakers and marketing folks were inspired by the old Volkswagen ads that asked us all to "think small." From their super tiny trailer tease to this first poster, you can totally tell everyone is having a bit of fun playing off the film's concept, which is about an ex-con (Paul Rudd) who acquires a special suit that allows him to shrink down to the size of an ant. Check out the poster below... Of course you want a closer look at that tiny little dude standing in the middle, so here's the newest cover of Entertainment Weekly, which appears to reveal what the poster looks like when you hold a magnifying... Comics on Film: The Most Anticipated Comic Book Movies of 2015 Posted: 06 Jan 2015 11:00 PM PST In this column we’ve already detailed the four major comic book movies that will be arriving in 2015. Still, though, it’s hard to ignore that many fans will likely be looking forward to some films over others, so we thought it would be prudent this week to give you our picks for the most anticipated comic book films of the year... according to me, a comic geek! With four major efforts arriving from some pretty different sets of characters, along with the fact that all four movies are likely going to be pretty different from each other, there’s likely going to be a fair amount of debate over which comic book films will be the most successful, the most daring with their use of the source material, as well as which will ultimately be considered the best of the... All Your Favorite Movie Cars Are Becoming Awesome Hot Wheels Toys Posted: 06 Jan 2015 09:00 PM PST I've always wanted Close Encounters of the Third Kind toys. Devil's Tower playset with a giant mothership UFO and of course action figures of Francois Truffaut and Bob Balaban. Those never happened, but now Hot Wheels is about to release the next best thing: a diecast replica of Roy Neary's yellow work truck, a Ford F-250 to be specific. This is one of the latest in the toy-car brand's Entertainment series of collector's items. Others in the first 2015 batch include the titular '58 Plymouth Belvedere from Christine and the black Porsche 356A from 48 Hrs. If you want those, you're best off trying to get them somewhere online, probably for more money than you'd usually spend on Hot Wheels at the toy store. I've seen a few of these movie... Watch: Eddie Redmayne Re-creates His Hilarious and Disastrous 'Hobbit' Audition Posted: 06 Jan 2015 07:30 PM PST Chances are likely that the next time you see Eddie Redmayne, he'll be holding up multiple awards thanks to an outstanding performance as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything. But even those Oscar-caliber actors have an embarrassing audition story or two tucked quietly behind walls they're not itching to knock down anytime soon. That's what makes this video all the more special. Redmayne was a guest on The Graham Norton Show recently over in the U.K., and he revealed a funny story about the time he auditioned to play Bilbo Baggins in Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy. The part eventually went to Martin Freeman, who did terrific things with the role, but watch as Redmayne explains exactly why he probably didn't get the part. Too bad for... 'The Raid' Invades Hollywood: First 'Kingsman,' and Now 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Posted: 06 Jan 2015 03:00 PM PST There are now two crucial trios in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The first is Han, Luke and Leia, obviously. And the second one emerged this week when it was revealed that a trio of martial artist fighters from The Raid 2 had been cast in the movie. The news comes from Twitch Film's Todd Brown, who was a producer on The Raid 2 so he certainly has verifiable ties to Iko Uwais, Yayan Ruhian and Cecep Arif Rahman. They are the powerhouse trio who punched, kicked, jumped, stabbed, shot and just dominated the screen in one of the best martial arts movies ever made. It's possible that they'll appear in the movie under makeup (as martial artist Ray Park did as Darth Maul) or that they're just body doubles for some of the other actors, but... 'Game of Thrones' Hits IMAX Screens This Month -- Is a Movie Too Far Behind? Posted: 06 Jan 2015 01:30 PM PST One of the biggest shows on television just got bigger... by setting up screenings not on television. HBO has booked a one-week event where fans can watch Game of Thrones in IMAX this month. The two offered episodes are not new -- rather, they're the final two from last year ("The Watchers on the Wall" and "Children") -- but they'll be accompanied by an exclusive trailer for the upcoming fifth season, which kicks off in April. There's no word on whether any of those new episodes could also turn up in the large format in movie theaters, but it's not very likely. At least not right away. As the New York Times points out, HBO is clearly capitalizing on the fact that there aren't any huge movies out this time of year to take over the 150 IMAX... Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris return; Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci, Lea Seydoux and Dave Bautista also star. [Twitter] New Release Dates: It's time to update your calendars, as several highly anticipated movies from Fox have new release dates. Gambit, starring Channing Tatum as the titular superhero, is now set for October 7, 2016. The team-up flick The Fantastic Four 2 has moved forward a month to June 2, 2017, leaving its old release date... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
