Marvel Studios Countdown: Kevin Feige Addresses Marvel Rumors Posted: 17 Oct 2016 09:00 PM PDT Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige is doing some press for the upcoming Doctor Strange, which means he’s being asked about all things Marvel. Sometimes it feels like he answers more questions about Marvel’s upcoming slate than he does for the film at hand. On November 4, audiences will get their next Marvel fix, and we’re sure Easter eggs and post-credits scenes will open up all-new fan speculation. For now, let’s make some sense out of the news at hand. Is Rachel McAdams playing Night Nurse in Doctor Strange? McAdams is credited as Christine Palmer and Palmer is a character in the all-but-forgotten Night Nurse comics. However, the character more popularly known as “Night Nurse,” and the one associated with Doctor Strange, is... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |

Watch: If Pixar Made a Movie for Adults, It'd Look Like This Posted: 17 Oct 2016 06:00 PM PDT Pixar movies aren't necessarily kids' movies, but they do all cater to audiences of all ages, so they have to be appropriate for children in particular. Animated films that are just for grown ups are rare, though not impossible to find (see this year's hit Sausage Party). If only the animation for adults looked and felt like Pixar, though, right? Well, now one does. Borrowed Time is a six-minute gem from co-directors Andrew Coats, who worked as an animator on Inside Out, Brave and Cars 2 (as well as Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs), and Lou Hamou-Lhadj, a "character modeler and articulation artist" for Brave, Wall-E, Toy Story 3 and The Good Dinosaur. It's a Western and a bit too bloody and... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Watch: Alec Baldwin Voices the World's Bossiest Baby in 'The Boss Baby' Posted: 17 Oct 2016 04:30 PM PDT One of the more challenging times for both parents and children is when a new sibling enters the picture. They're extra needy and extra insane, and for the older brother or sister that means much of the attention is being diverted away from you. It's those very familiar themes that will apparently be explored in The Boss Baby, a new animated film from DreamWorks Animation due out March 31, 2017, featuring the voice of Alec Baldwin as a baby who wreaks havoc on a seven-year-old's pleasant existence by showing up like he owns the joint -- business suit, briefcase and all. The first trailer arrived just in time to celebrate National Boss's Day. Check it out. Between Baldwin's bossy baby and Kevin Spacey voicing a grumpy, bossy cat in Nine Lives... Posted: 17 Oct 2016 03:00 PM PDT Dark Web: Joel and Ethan Coen (above) will write a new draft of the screenplay for Dark Web. The thriller is based on a magazine article by Joshuah Bearman about a real-life entrepreneur who created an illegal-drug marketplace online and "allegedly became a murderous kingpin." Dennis Lehane wrote the first draft of the script. Though primarily known for writing and directing their own movies, the Coen brothers have recently written scripts for Angelina Jolie's Unbroken and Steven Spielberg's Bridge of Spies. [THR] Hidden Figures: The upcoming drama Hidden Figures, previously set for theatrical release on January 13, 2017, will instead receive a limited release on December 25, ahead of its wide opening on January 6. That will make the movie eligible... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Blockbuster Buzz: 'Doctor Strange' Mystery Deepens and 'Transformers: The Last Knight' Adds Cast Posted: 17 Oct 2016 01:30 PM PDT When Rachel McAdams confirmed that she would be joining Marvel's Doctor Strange last year, she did not mention what character she would be playing. Since then, we've seen glimpses of her in the trailers as some kind of medical practitioner named Christine Palmer, a former workmate of Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). Christina Palmer was also the name of a nurse who appeared in the short-lived 1970s Marvel comic book series Night Nurse, which followed three roommates who were also nurses on the night shift at a Manhattan hospital. The nurses were not superheroes but got involved in dramatic, sometimes dangerous situations. One of them, Linda Carter, started helping superheroes as Night Nurse and later became involved with Doctor Strange in a comic book series...
