Could Robb Stark Return to 'Game of Thrones'? Richard Madden Addresses Fan Theory Posted: Dead characters don't always stay that way on HBO's "Game of Thrones," so it's no wonder fans have cooked up a way for Robb Stark (Richard Madden) to return to the fantasy drama series. *Be warned: There are possible spoilers ahead.* There have been no signs of Robb's return after he was brutally killed off in Season 3, but a popular fan theory suggests that he could. The theory -- which Madden recently responded to in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter -- is based on George R.R. Martin's series "A Song of Ice and Fire." In the books, a resurrected Lady Catelyn Stark takes her revenge on those who wronged her and her family, earning the nickname "Lady Stoneheart." The fan theory predicts that Robb will come back instead. If you're hoping to see it happen, you may need to reconcile yourself now to the fact that Robb is truly and permanently dead. When asked about the possible storyline, he told THR that it wasn't in the works as far as he knew. "I've not heard anything, of course," he said. "I suppose I wouldn't have the phone call, because they're very secretive about everything." Either way, he seemed wary of a return and didn't give a definite "yes" when asked if he'd want to come back. His reasoning is fair, though: Robb's story was already wrapped up well. "Robb Stark had such a great storyline, three seasons where he had this great start, middle and end to his character, and it set up such a great purpose to the show up to that point," he said. None of this sounds like it bodes well for a return, but all hope isn't lost: Madden admitted that the actors do lie about plot developments to keep the show's secrets. Anything's possible. 'Victoria' Star Jenna Coleman Talks 'Downton Abbey' Comparisons Posted: "Victoria" is coming to PBS Masterpiece in January, and the fact that many are wondering if the show will fill the "Downton Abbey"-sized hole in their hearts isn't lost on the new series' star, Jenna Coleman. "Downton Abbey" left some massive shoes to fill with its six highly successful seasons, so Coleman is understandably being careful with any comparisons. In fact, she recently made sure to highlight the differences between the two British dramas in an interview with Deadline. "There is a lot of expectation but I think 'Downton' was a phenomenon. It's its own," she said. "The shows are both period dramas and that's kind of where the similarities end. It's a completely different period of time." "Victoria" does start earlier than "Downton" did, picking up in 1837 with the crowning of the then-18-year-old queen. There may be more similarities than Coleman would care to admit, though: The first season follows her courtship and later marriage to Prince Albert (Tom Hughes). If you watched "Downton," the themes of love, relationships, and marriage should sound familiar. Coleman may be wary of comparisons, but she wasn't afraid to give the Julian Fellowes show its due. "What's fantastic is that 'Downton' has been so popular in the U.S. that it's carved an audience that hopefully are hungry for investing in the next drama which takes you back to somewhere which isn't now," she told Deadline. "Victoria" has performed well in the U.K. so far, scoring a Season 2 order not long after its August premiere. The "Doctor Who" alum could get just as warm of a welcome from U.S. viewers when "Victoria" premieres Jan. 15 on PBS. Stephen Colbert to Go Uncensored in Live Election Night Special Posted: Election Night will be hard on some people, but whatever the outcome, it'll be a good night for Stephen Colbert fans. Showtime announced today that the "Late Show" host will bring his hilarious political satire and commentary to the premium network for a live, one-hour election special. The title is a mouthful -- "Stephen Colbert's Live Election Night Democracy's Series Finale: Who's Going to Clean Up This Sh*t?" -- but the concept is pretty simple: Colbert will react in real time to the election results. The special will appeal to viewers "who want to see all the latest news, without actually having to watch the news," according to Showtime. As a bonus, Colbert's commentary won't be bleeped out like some of it would be on network television. "It'll be all the political comedy you love from my CBS show, with all the swearing and nudity you love from Showtime," said Colbert in a press release. Actual physical nudity seems unlikely, but we should get some emotional nakedness, so to speak. The comedian will speak to a variety of people about the election results, and there are bound to be some strong emotions. Tears of joy, tears of outrage -- we could see it all. The special, which is being filmed at New York City's Ed Sullivan Theater, will also include remote segments and surprise guests. Are you bleeping ready for this? The election special will air Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 11 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. PT. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
'Grey's Anatomy' Taps Marika Dominczyk for Season 13 Guest Role Posted: "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 is focusing on the show's remaining original stars, but there's still room for new characters. "Brothers & Sisters" alum Marika Dominczk is headed to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital for a guest role on the hit medical drama, reports Variety. Her character is named Eliza Minnick, but unfortunately, that's all we know at this point. It hasn't been revealed when her character will first appear, for how long she'll stick around, or -- most importantly -- how she's connected to the "Grey's Anatomy" gang. Speculation has already begun that Eliza could be a new love interest for Arizona (Jessica Capshaw). Given that show creator Shonda Rhimes teased new romance for the doctor, it certainly seems like a possibility. However, Eliza isn't the only potential option; Arizona's former love interest Leah (Tessa Ferrer) is set to return, so she could be the lovely lady in question. Whether it's Eliza, Leah, neither, or both trying to woo Arizona, there's definitely going to be enough drama coming in the weeks ahead for everyone to play a part in it. "Grey's Anatomy" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. [via: Variety] This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
'The Batman' Production to Start Spring 2017, According to Joe Manganiello Posted: It's still unclear when "The Batman," the upcoming standalone DC flick starring Ben Affleck's version of the Caped Crusader, will hit theaters, but it may be sooner than fans anticipated: One of the film's stars just revealed when the film will start production. Joe Manganiello, who will play villain Deathstroke in the flick, dropped the news in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, spilling the beans that it looks like a spring 2017 start date is in the cards for the feature. The actor told ET that he was currently "getting ready to go shoot Batman in the spring." Part of that preparation has included at least one screen test for director Affleck, who shared some raw footage of Manganiello in his Deathstroke garb on Twitter back in August, causing DC fanboys and -girls to freak out -- and wonder whether or not the deadly assassin would be appearing in "Justice League." While the possibility of a cameo in that film remains to be seen (Manganiello did pop up in Europe during production), it was later revealed that Deathstroke would be the main villain in "The Batman," set for release after the DC team-up flick. We still don't have any definitive word on when "The Batman" will hit theaters, but based on DC's current release schedule -- and now this new production information -- it's not likely to arrive before 2018. New 'Rogue One' Character Posters Reveal Death Star Plans Posted: A new series of character posters for "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" reveal some key details about the protagonists and antagonist in the upcoming "Star Wars" spinoff, as well as highlight the plot of the movie. "Rogue One," which takes place shortly before the events of "Episode IV: A New Hope," centers around the burgeoning Rebel Alliance's mission to steal the plans to the Empire's new Death Star, a super space station capable of destroying entire planets. And in these new posters, we see those crucial plans projected onto each character's face, emphasizing those plans' importance to the plot as well as to each character individually. In addition to highlighting the film's underlying themes, the revelation of these posters -- which were first shared by the official Star Wars Twitter account -- included a few more details about the movie's main and supporting characters. New wacky robot sidekick K-2SO (voiced by Alan Tudyk, who also did a motion-capture performance for the droid), for instance, was initially built by the Empire, but was reprogrammed by the Rebels to use in the fight against it. Check out the rest of the one-sheets below. "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is due in theaters on December 16.

You Need to Watch This Insane 'Price Is Right' Showcase Showdown Posted: One of the greatest things about "The Price Is Right" is that after more than 40 years on the air, the venerable game show is still full of surprises. And viewers were treated to a big surprise on Monday when one of the rarest and most unlikely occurrences in the show's history took place. As the official "Price Is Right" Twitter account teased, "This is one Showcase Showdown you need to see to believe!" And we concur. After all, it's not every day when all three contestants tie with $1.00 spins during the Showcase Showdown. This situation has apparently happened a handful of times before (it's unclear exactly how many), but it's still such a rare and shocking event that the three contestants in question -- Cathryn, Manfred, and Jessica -- and host Drew Carey were all positively giddy as things unfolded. And what makes Monday's show even more unique is that all three of the contestants needed two spins each to reach the coveted $1.00 sum (which also netted each of them a $1,000 cash bonus). The excitement on stage and among those in the studio audience is palpable throughout the clip, and as the third contestant to spin the wheel, Jessica, got things rolling, Carey mused that it would be funny if she, too, scored $1.00. When she does -- that's what game show gold is made of. There are few pleasures in life more pure than watching syndicated television on a weekday, and we salute "The Price Is Right"'s enduring unpredictability for making this episode an extra special joy to watch. Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis Welcome Daughter Daisy Posted: Olivia Wilde and fiance Jason Sudeikis are parents again, welcoming their second child, a daughter, earlier this month. Wilde unveiled the couple's newest bundle of joy on Instagram over the weekend, sharing a sweet snap of the slumbering newborn and revealing the little girl's name and birth date. "There goes the neighborhood," Wilde captioned the post, adding that the couple named their daughter Daisy Josephine Sudeikis. The actress also noted that Daisy was "Born, like a boss, on #internationaldayofthegirl." International Day of the Girl Child is a UN-sponsored girls' rights awareness campaign celebration, which this year fell on Tuesday, October 11. Daisy joins big brother Otis Alexander, 2, who was born back in April 2014. Wilde, 32, and Sudeikis, 41, have been engaged since 2013. The pair began dating in 2011. Wilde first revealed that she was expecting again in another Instagram post, which she shared back in April, featuring her and Otis comparing their "matching baby bumps." She later shared the news that she would be having a girl in a Twitter post from September. Congrats to the new family of four! 5 Things We Want to See in Disney's Live-Action 'Lion King' Remake Posted: Disney's ongoing quest to remake every single one of their animated movies in live-action continues, with "The Lion King" set to join a lineup that has already included 2014's "Maleficent," 2015's "Cinderella," and April 2016's "The Jungle Book." "Jungle Book" director Jon Favreau is onboard to direct the new movie. At the same time, we don't want to see a remake that simply recycles what came before with a fancy new coat of paint. The remake can re-purpose the old songs, but it can't just coast by using the same plot as before. It has to be able to surprise viewers who grew up watching and re-watching the VHS tape until it wore out. We don't necessarily need to see the Disney equivalent of Nick Fury assembling talking animal heroes to form the Disney Avengers, but it would be really neat to see actual continuity form between movies and for "The Lion king" to somehow reference the events of "The Jungle Book." Donald Trump Calls for End of 'Boring and Unfunny' SNL After Latest 'Hit Job' Posted: Donald Trump hosted "Saturday Night Live" on November 7, 2015 -- and even danced in a pretty great SNL parody of Drake's "Hotline Bling" -- but the honeymoon is way over.
At least he's still watching! As they say, all publicity is good publicity, especially with the candidate calling attention to the show himself. And since Alec Baldwin retweeted Trump's dis, it's safe to say he was not too offended. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. Harry Potter-Inspired Wand Brushes Sell Out After Going Viral Posted: Sorry, Muggles. For the time being, a spell of "Accio, wand brushes" will get you nothing, thanks to the extreme popularity of Storybook Cosmetics's magical line of makeup brushes. The company produces "makeup inspired by your favorite stories." They can't actually use the Harry Potter name, but their stunning makeup brushes look good enough to make Mr. Ollivander jealous. The site had its Wizard Brush Set on pre-order, with five brushes selling in a custom velvet wand pouch for $55. Because anything that even resembles Harry Potter is destined to sell well, the brushes started taking off online. On Sunday, the Storybrook owners referenced their "viral weekend," noting that their brushes "were the number one trending topic on Facebook. No pressure guys... no pressure!" Today, they updated to note that the brushes were temporarily sold out, even though none have even shipped yet since they're still in the pre-order phase. They also reported getting

Nathan Fillion Admits 'Castle' Finale 'Wasn't the Beautiful Send-Off' Desired Posted: "Castle" crumbled from a pretty lofty height in its last season, and even star Nathan Fillion is willing to admit the ending was not ideal. Season 8 was the final season, but that was not known as they approached the end of filming. Instead, fans were shocked when it was announced that star Stana Katic was let go and would not be returning for Season 9, which implied that there would be a Season 9 at all and it would somehow exist without Beckett. Then ABC decided to cancel the series altogether, which was a surprise to the remaining cast/producers and led to a rather hurried conclusion including a (tacked-on) time jump into the future with happy Castle and Beckett and their kids. Fillion talked to the New York Post to tease his new arc on "Modern Family," and shared a pragmatic take on the end of "Castle":
Over the summer, TVLine had asked Fillion if it was bittersweet to have the show end without a proper send-off? Here's his reply:
So now he's focusing on his "Modern Family" stint as weatherman Rainer Shine, plus upcoming role in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" and voice work in "Henchman" and "Yamasong: March of the Hollows."
"Modern Family" airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on ABC (except for October 19, because of the third presidential debate). This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
'Goofy, Adorable' Baby Groot Starts Over in 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' Posted: There are so many reasons to be excited for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," and one of them is definitely to see the "new" Groot. Vin Diesel is back to voice the talking tree, whose sacrifice in Vol. 1 transformed him into a tiny version affectionately dubbed Baby Groot. Collider talked to Diesel while he was promoting "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk," asking if there's a difference between the Groots of Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. Here's what he said in his video chat:
Diesel added that it's "cool" because his voice is now being heard where they may never have heard him before, since voice actors in different countries usually get to say the lines in their own languages. "So I love that, but it definitely makes it that much more challenging." This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
'Thor: Ragnarok' Will Be Most 'Out There' Marvel Movie: 'Think CRAZY' Posted: Director Taika Waititi just promised "Thor: Ragnarok" will be the most "out there" of Marvel's superhero films. However, he also admitted he's not too familiar with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (beyond his favorite, "Guardians of the Galaxy") and filmed with the mindset that there were no other "Thor" movies. So he wouldn't really know if his is the craziest. But he's still probably right! Waititi had a Reddit AMA on Saturday, with fans asking a lot of questions about the third "Thor" movie, which he directed for release November 3, 2017. Here are some Reddit highlights with mini scoop on the '80s vibe and "crazy" uniqueness of "Thor: Ragnarok":
"Thor: Ragnarok" is scheduled for release November 3rd, 2017. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
AMC Gives 'The Walking Dead' Season 8 an Early Renewal Posted: There will be MORE blood! Every season to date has started in October, so it stands to reason that Season 8 will premiere in October 2017. Showrunner Scott M. Gimple gets to keep his job, and the series gets to keep the 16-episode format it has had since Season 3. Season 8 will also begin with the show's 100th episode. AMC president Charlie Collier had some Negan-quoting fun in his statement on the renewal:
The Season 7 premiere (written by Gimple and directed by Greg Nicotero) is titled "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be" (Dr. Jenner cameo right in the title!) airing at 9 p.m. October 23; it will be followed by a 90-minute special edition of "Talking Dead" featuring a dozen cast members in a live ep from Hollywood Forever Cemetery. The first season is out on Digital HD (iTunes, Vudu, Google Play, Flixster, etc.) on Monday, October 17. TV Worth Watching "The Walking Dead" Season 7 (Sunday on AMC at 9 p.m.) It's time to be traumatized by the multiple depressing events of the 1 hour, 6 minute Season 7 premiere, titled "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be." (Yes, that's a Season 1 callback.) We'll get answers from the Season 6 cliffhanger -- aka Who Did Negan Kill? -- and episode director Greg Nicotero promised even more bad things will happen after that death. The premiere will be followed by a special 90-minute "Talking Dead" to process our emotions. "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 (Friday on The CW at 8 p.m.) And so the end begins. Season 8, the final season of TVD, begins October 21. The premiere is titled "Hello Brother," which executive producer Julie Plec described as "one of our most famous lines from the show." That kind of nostalgia ride should continue all season. The CW's synopsis for "Hello Brother" states that "Season 8 begins with Stefan searching for Damon and Enzo after they mysteriously vanished months ago from the Armory vault. Meanwhile, Caroline and Alaric fear that someone is targeting their family after they encounter an unexpected visitor." "Hooligan Sparrow" (Monday on PBS at 10 p.m.) There's a lot of entertainment on TV these days, but every so often you should have some vegetables with the junk food. This PBS POV documentary -- an Official Selection of the 2016 Sundance Film Festival -- follows a woman's rights activist in China who took on officials accused of raping young girls, and paid a steep price for speaking out. In 2013, a school principal and a member of the education bureaucracy abducted six female students aged 11 to 14, took them to a hotel, and sexually assaulted them over a 24-hour period. When parents and their supporters demanded justice, the perpetrators insisted the girls were prostitutes. Watch the maddening story play out October 17 on PBS. "Westworld" (Sunday on HBO at 9 p.m.) We were fully obsessed with this new show even before reading that amazing theory about The Man in Black. (It sounds plausible, but -- even if it's wrong -- it's just great that this is the kind of show that spawns high-end theories.) Episode 4 of 10, "Dissonance Theory," airs October 23. Here's HBO's synopsis: "Dolores joins a bounty hunt in the badlands with William and Logan; Dr. Ford and Theresa talk about the park's future; Maeve is disturbed by a vision; The Man in Black makes a significant discovery on his quest." It's not too late to catch up. This one is worth it. New on Netflix "Black Mirror" Season 3 (Netflix Original)Writer-creator Charlie Brooker's exploration of modern techno-paranoia continues with six new stories, available for streaming on Netflix October 21. (Season 3 was going to be 12 episodes, but it was ultimately split into two seasons of six episodes.) The third season cast includes Bryce Dallas Howard, Alice Eve, James Norton, Cherry Jones, Wyatt Russell, Alex Lawther, Jerome Flynn, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mackenzie Davis, Michael Kelly, Malachi Kirby, Kelly McDonald, and Faye Marsay. Here are more details on each new episode. "Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories" (Netflix Original) You might want to consider giving this series a taste on October 21. Here's the description from Netflix: "In a back alley of a busy district sits a small eatery called Meshiya, referred to by its patrons as the Midnight Diner. The little joint, which the Master runs by himself, is open only from midnight to 7:00 AM. The menu consists only of a pork miso soup set, beer, saké and shochu, but the Master's policy is to make whatever his customers request. Tonight, like every other night, a menagerie of customers flock to the Midnight Diner, where the bonds among the Master, his food and the patrons set the stage for humorous and sometimes wistful episodes of human drama that feed both the belly and the soul." "The Mr. Peabody and Sherman Show" Season 3 (Netflix Original) "Jim Henson's Word Party" Season 2 (Netflix Original) "Joe Rogan: Triggered" (Netflix Original) Friday, October 21 is a big day for Netflix originals, including new seasons of these two children series and the debut of comedian Joe Rogan's comedy special.
