'The Walking Dead' Season 7 Premiere Spoilers Hint to Major Guilt Trips

Posted:

This is bad. Maybe even worse than you expected from "The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere, because even the characters who aren't killed by Negan have to shuffle around with major survivor's guilt for what happened.

STOP READING NOW IF YOU DON'T WANT MAJOR SPOILERS.

The Spoiling Dead Fans -- which has a long history of accurate spoilers from set sources -- just shared details on Sunday's premiere, "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be." They confirmed the two deaths that had been spoiled by actor set sightings, and added more grim details to confirm that, yes, it's going to get even worse after that initial kill.

The biggest takeaways are that...

1. Abraham is the answer to the Season 6 cliffhanger question "Who did Negan kill?"
2. Abraham is not the only one to be killed by Negan, via his baseball bat Lucille. Glenn is also killed, and that's where the Daryl guilt comes in.

You may recall that Daryl was on a mission to find Dwight to get revenge for Denise. That's why he was out there, and why Michonne and Glenn went out to find Daryl before they were all captured. This is Negan's doing, and fans may not blame Daryl for anything, but -- knowing Daryl -- he's going to blame himself for a lot of this.

Here are the details, per TSDF's Q&A with a source:

Q: Who gets Lucilled?
A: Abe & then Glenn.

Q: Why does Negan kill the second victim?
A: Daryl gets angry because Negan taunts a crying Rosita. So he tries to get up and go at Negan. Negan has to prove he means what he says.

Q: Do we actually see the bashing? If so, when?
A: Yes. The episode should start just after the bashing occurs. That's what we see in the sneak peek. About 20 minutes in, we should jump back to just before that and see how it happens. Then we will catch back up to present time.

There's more -- AMC had a sneak peek showing Rick threatening Negan, and Negan dragging him into an RV. Turns out, Rick does not lose his hand, as his character did earlier in the comic book, but what happens is even more sinister, in a way, and involves Carl Grimes:

Q: What happens to Rick in the RV?
A: A lot of mind games from Negan. No physical injury to Rick by Negan although Negan does toss him into a small herd of walkers.

Q: Does anything happen to Carl?
A: Negan tells Rick he must chop Carl's arm off so that he'll truly realize Negan is in control. Rick eventually becomes resigned to do it but at the last second, Negan stops him. Mind f*ck complete.

That is cold. And if you weren't traumatized enough, there's this:

Q: What's the deal with the whole "dream sequence" thing?
A: There are a few moments where Rick flashes to a non-existent future where Glenn and Abe are still alive and the entire group, including Maggie & Glenn's baby, are around the dinner table. (As well as a pregnant Sasha with Abe. *sad face*)

Wow. And we know the other AMC sneak peek showed Dwight wearing Daryl's jacket, so that's confiscated at some point. You have to know Daryl is going to blame himself for at least part of this, and Rick is going to blame himself for the rest. Rick gave the OK to go after the Saviors with very little information. And almost cutting off Carl's arm?! Man. There's no coming back from that guilt and shame. He won't be able to look Mini Grimes in his one eye for a while.

Poor Abe. And Glenn. They don't even get their own death episodes. Technically, Abe is getting Glenn's comic book death. Glenn is getting his own Lucille death probably just as a surprise to keep fans on their toes. And it's possible fans will leave the episode focusing more on Daryl than either guy. That would be a tragedy on its own.

Sarah Jessica Parker Is Still Upset About Two Movies That Fired Her

Posted:

NY Premiere of HBO's "Divorce"Sarah Jessica Parker always expects to be fired, and she said it's not an uncommon trait among actors. She recently talked to Howard Stern about being fired from two animated films. She started the conversation by recalling when she was working on "State and Main" with Philip Seymour Hoffman; every weekend they'd talk about seeing each other again back at work, and she'd say, "unless I'm fired," because for the first two weeks she was sure she was going to be let go.

Stern asked if she had ever been fired from a movie, and she named 1998's "Antz" and 2004's "Home on the Range." She couldn't have been too upset about the latter, since she called it "At Close Range" ... unless that was an intentional dis. But probably not.

Here's part of her talk:

SJP: "I was fired from 'Antz.' That animated movie. And I was fired from 'At Close Range,' that other animated movie."

Howard Stern: "You were a bad ant?"

SJP: "Apparently I was a bad ant. I can't remember which movie fired me first. The first time they were like, 'We're going in a different direction.' Which I had always heard, like, as a joke. And that one was a cow. Wasn't 'At Close Range' the cows? I think it was. [...] And 'Antz' -- and by the way, just please know I did many sessions for both of these movies."

Stern: "Did you use your own voice or did you do a funny voice for an ant?"

SJP: "I had my own, and then they brought in Sharon Stone, and I was like, 'Oh you really did go a different -- like she's you know down here [deep voice]. She's like old movie star vixen."

Stern: "What was your ant voice, this voice that I'm hearing now?"

SJP: "Yeah, I guess they objected to it. What was upsetting was that they even called me the week before they fired me, they called me to tell me how great I was. Which I felt was a set-up, but I think they meant it at that time."

Poor SJP. Then again, history is on her side, since "Antz" was overshadowed by Pixar's "A Bug's Life" and probably no one remembers "Home on the Range." (Maybe if it had been called "At Close Range" it would've been more of a hit.)

Listen to the interview over here.

Jimmy Kimmel Hired Doctor Strange for a Children's Party & It Was a Bad Idea

Posted:

Sometimes you really should just stick with Johnny Karate. "Doctor Strange" opens November 4, and even though technically the lead character is a "magician," his powerful brand of sorcery isn't really a good fit for children's birthday parties. But no one told Jimmy Kimmel.

Benedict Cumberbatch was just on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," and Kimmel gave him a sketch somewhat reminiscent of Seth Meyers having Jon Snow over for a dinner party and inviting Melisandre to a baby shower. In this case, Cumberbatch's Dr. Stephen Strange was called to entertain a bunch of wild "demons" on a cupcake sugar high, and he ... well, just ask Marcus if it was a good idea. If you can ever find him again. (To be fair, Marcus deserved it.)

Watch the ultimate party pooper in action:
Yes, that is what happens when you trust someone's LinkedIn profile.

Full "Doctor Strange" reviews haven't been posted yet, but critics shared their initial impressions on Twitter, and so far it looks like a decent bet. Check out the Marvel film for yourself when it opens Friday, November 4.

New 'Justice League' Image Revealed for Wonder Woman's 75th Anniversary

Posted:

UN-DIPLOMACY-WONDERWOMAN

Happy anniversary, Wonder Woman!

If we had invisible jets, we'd write notes in the sky, but instead we're just delighted to see the United Nations honor the character today in an event with "Wonder Woman" power trio Lynda Carter, Gal Gadot, and Patty Jenkins. Plus, "Justice League" director Zack Snyder shared a film image of Wonder Woman, aka Diana Prince, to honor the character's 75th anniversary.

On October 21, the United Nations launched a campaign to empower women and girls, featuring Wonder Woman as its honorary spokeswoman. "Wonder Woman" icon Lynda Carter joined new DC Wonder Woman Gal Gadot, the director of Gadot's upcoming "Wonder Woman" film Patty Jenkins, and DC Entertainment President Diane Nelson to mark the occasion:

And here's the new "Justice League" image of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman:

Patty Jenkins's "Wonder Woman" solo film will arrive first on June 2nd, 2017, before Snyder's "Justice League" on November 17th, 2017.

Donald Glover Cast as Lando in Han Solo Movie

Posted:

"Atlanta" New York ScreeningStar Wars fans, welcome the smooth new smuggler in town! Donald Glover has landed the role of Lando Calrissian in the young Han Solo movie, starring Alden Ehrenreich.

Lucasfilm announced the good news, casting the 33-year-old actor ("The Martian," "Atlanta," "Community," soon to be in "Spider-Man Homecoming") as Han's frenemy in Phil Lord and Christopher Miller's still-untitled standalone.

"We're so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us," Lord and Miller said in a statement (via StarWars.com). "These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we'd like to publicly apologize to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever."
Fans first met Lando (Billy Dee Williams) in "Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back." He was a smuggler -- and a skilled pilot -- in his early days, and was the owner of the Millennium Falcon before losing it to Han Solo in a game of sabacc, which we had better see on screen. Eventually Lando became the leader of Cloud City and tricked Han and Leia as part of a trap set by Darth Vader. But he made up for that. Besides, you know Han cheated to win that game.

The Han Solo movie is scheduled to start filming in early 2017 for release in 2018.

Captain Marvel 'Will Be, by Far, the Strongest Character' in the MCU

Posted:

Marvel Studios Hall H Panel

Faster than a speeding bullet -- no wait, that's DC. Stronger than even The Hulk -- Captain Marvel, aka Carol Danvers, will be the ultimate powerhouse in the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige shared the scoop in an interview with Vulture, discussing the 2019 film with Brie Larson in the lead role.

"With Captain Marvel, there's so much potential in the comics and there have been so many incarnations of her powers and the characters who've had that mantle that we've been focusing in on exactly how do we tell her origin. How does it fit into the cosmic side of our universe? How does it fit into what we're doing with the next Avengers movies? So really, that's what's been delaying that particular announcement."
Speaking of her powers, Feige confirmed they plan to go full throttle on that front, right in her introduction:
"It's very important to us that all of our heroes do not become silhouette-perfect cutout icons. All of the Marvel characters have flaws to them, all of them have a deep humanity to them. With Captain Marvel, she is as powerful a character as we've ever put in a movie. Her powers are off the charts, and when she's introduced, she will be by far the strongest character we've ever had. It's important, then, to counterbalance that with someone who feels real. She needs to have a humanity to tap into, and Brie can do that."

Brie Larson, as you know, is the reigning Best Actress Oscar winner for her role in "The Room." Who is Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel? According to her character bio, Major Carol Danvers was first shown "as a member of the U.S. Air Force in Marvel Super-Heroes #13 (March 1968) and debuted as the first incarnation of Ms. Marvel in Ms. Marvel #1 (January 1977) after a fusion of alien Kree and human genes gives her superhuman powers, which occurred in Captain Marvel #18 (November 1969)."

Collider quoted her list of powers, so fans know how she's truly more powerful than the impressive lineup of Thor, The Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, etc.:

"Danvers possesses superhuman strength and durability, can fly at roughly six times the speed of sound, retains her sixth sense, and can discharge explosive blasts of radiant energy, which she fires from her fingertips. She also demonstrates the ability to absorb other forms of energy, such as electricity, to further magnify her strength and energy projection, up to the force of an exploding nuclear weapon. When sufficiently augmented, she can withstand the pressure from a 92-ton weight, and strike with a similar level of force, although Hank Pym theorized that this likely was not her limit."

The "Captain Marvel" origin story is scheduled for release in theaters March 8, 2019. A director has yet to be named, but we should expect to hear that soon.

Jennifer Lawrence to Play Zelda Fitzgerald

Posted:

BRITAIN-CINEMA-PREMIERE-X-MENAmerica's Best Girl Friend is ready to play America's First Flapper.

Jennifer Lawrence is attached to star in a biopic about Zelda Fitzgerald, the wife and muse of novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Titled "Zelda," the project is being developed by Ron Howard, who may also direct.

The biopic would tell the story of a woman born in Alabama to a prominent Southern family. She met her future husband when he was stationed outside Montgomery during an army stint. After they married, they became socialites and celebrated artists of the Jazz Age, and Zelda was described by her husband as "the first American flapper." But their marriage was marred by alcoholism, infidelity, and bitterness. Zelda's schizophrenia eventually tore them apart and they died in separation.

As the official description explains, "The film explores the question — can love exist between creative equals?"

The project could be another ticket to the Academy Awards for Lawrence. She's been nominated four times in six years, including for last year's "Joy," and she's a contender again with this year's "Passengers."

All Roads Lead to 'Nashville' in Season 5 Promo

Posted:

NashvilleMusic to the rescue!

The first promo is here for "Nashville" season 5, which sees the country music drama move from ABC to CMT. And though the stars are surrounded by bright lights and gold sparks, it's clear that all that razzle dazzle hides a world of hurt. As Connie Britton's Rayna James says, "We all break. That's what makes us human."

The promo also has Hayden Panettiere as Juliette Barnes front and center. The season 4 finale ended with Juliette's plane missing, but clearly, the feisty singer survives the situation and returns to Nashville to her ex Avery (Jonathan Jackson) and their young daughter, Cadence.

Cast members Charles Esten (Deacon Claybourne), Clare Bowen (Scarlett O'Connor), Sam Palladio (Gunnar Scott), Chris Carmack (Will Lexington), and Lennon Stella (Maddie Conrad) all appear in the promo.

"Nashville" was canceled by ABC last spring, but rescued by CMT (a very appropriate new home), which gave the show a full season order of 22 episodes.

Y'all ready for some drama? "Nashville" season 5 premieres with a two-hour episode on January 5.

Love Is Dead for Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal in 'Nocturnal Animals' Trailer

Posted:

Nocturnal Animals"When you love someone, you have to be careful with it. You might never get it again," Jake Gyllenhaal menacingly tells Amy Adams in the new full-length trailer for "Nocturnal Animals."

Love is wielded as a threat in the trailer for the psychological thriller, which was directed by Tom Ford and based on Austin Wright's 1993 novel "Tony and Susan." Things start out promisingly enough when Adams runs into her former crush (Gyllenhaal). The two fall for each other again and get married. But they end up divorced, with Adams admitting that she left her ex in a "brutal way."

Adams gets a book manuscript from Gyllenhaal. And the movie weaves between her real life and the story told in the novel.
There are twists and turns, threats and chilling characters — and it's all a total mindf**k for Adams. The movie looks beautifully composed, with many artistic shots. And the rest of the cast is excellent, including Michael Shannon, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Isla Fisher, Armie Hammer, Laura Linney, and Michael Sheen.

"Nocturnal Animals" opens in limited release Nov. 19 and nationwide Dec. 9.

'Game of Thrones' Season 7 Spoiler: Long-Lost Character Spotted Filming in Spain

Posted:

Game of Thrones"Game of Thrones" season 7 is currently filming in Northern Ireland and Spain, which means hints, clues, and outright spoilers are starting to leak out. And the latest one is going to make fans get VERY hype.

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD, DUH ...

So, last month, actor Joe Dempsie was spotted at the Belfast airport. This caused a lot of excitement since his character, Gendry, has not been seen since the season 3 finale when he rowed away in a boat. Fans and even the showrunners have been joking about Gendry's whereabouts ever since — still rowing!

Well, he's apparently going to be rowing just a little more. The Spanish news outlet Los Siete Reinos reported on two different scenes involving Gendry, Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), and Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham). In the first scene, the three men land on a shore in a boat.

The second scene was captured on camera and shows the three men trying to depart in a rowboat. They are approached by two soldiers wearing gold cloaks, who seemingly threaten them. At that point, Gendry pulls out Warhammer — the weapon his father, Robert Baratheon, used to kill Prince Rhaegar Targaryen — and strikes down the soldiers!
So many thoughts (and questions):
  • Tyrion and Davos being together indicate that their leaders, Daenerys and Jon Snoware perhaps considering an alliance — or at least talking.
  • Their relationship must be awkward, since Tyrion essentially killed Davos' sons at the Battle of Blackwater.
  • Will Tyrion come face to face with his former wife, Sansa?
  • The filming location hints that the men are on Dragonstone — the very place Gendry rowed away from in season 3.
  • How did Gendry get Warhammer?
  • Now that Arya is back in Westeros and presumably on her way back North, does this pave a path to a reunion with Gendry?
All we know is season 7 feels very, very far away.

6 Childhood Toys That Will (Probably) Be Movies Someday

Posted:

Forget books, fairy tales, or plays. Hollywood's adaptation inspiration seems to be coming straight from the toy chest.

"Trolls" and "Ouija: Origin of Evil" are just two recent movies based on our favorite playthings of the past; there are more than few existing examples of toys being made into movies (for better or for worse), and we can only imagine that even more are being produced as you're reading this.

We already predicted days of the year that will (probably) be movies on day, but what about the beloved games and dolls from our childhoods? Here are six movie ideas based on some of the most memorable toys of our youth.

We'll be waiting for your call, Hollywood.

1. Easy Bake OvenAn Easy Bake Oven sits on display in the Hasbro showroom dur
Picture this: A novice home chef played by Hailee Steinfeld gets a cooking show deal after her Easy Bake Oven YouTube recipes go viral. What the world doesn't know is ... her magical oven has an (adorable) mind of its own. Catherine Zeta-Jones plays the evil network exec / failed chef who gets wind of the oven's sorcery and attempts to steal its power, along with all of its recipes. Ina Garten voices one of the spoons.

Tagline: Bake it easy ... this Christmas.

2. Kid Sister / My Buddy Unfortunately, we still haven't forgotten the catchy little jingle for '80s sensations Kid Sister and My Buddy, the stuffed friends who would hang out with you because, um, they weren't actually human and had no choice. We could totally see this as a gritty indie comedy: Kid Sister and My Buddy, all grown up and dealing with the harsh realities of the real world. My Buddy, or Buddy, played by Jason Schwartzman and Kid Sister, Sissy, played by Sarah Paulson, live in LA, go in and out of rehab, still clinging to their glory days as celebrities of Reagan-era yesteryear. They team up to start a Kid Sister/My Buddy "reunion tour" and meet people across America who loved them as kids. They then start to turn their lives around, even though stuff gets really weird and surreal in between. At one point, they dance in an abandoned parking lot to a slowed-down techno version of their respective theme songs. Honestly, we would watch this one.

Tagline: Stop kidding yourself.

3. PerfectionThe pitch for this high-stakes thriller would be "Speed" meets "Jumanji" meets "Tron." In a post-apocalyptic future, a young prodigy (Jaden Smith) is tasked with saving mankind from our enemy planet by completing a mind-boggling city-sized puzzle (basically a large Perfection board) before it combusts. Lily-Rose Depp is the young, newly crowned queen of the villainous Planet Perfecta, and Rachel Weisz is the ailing mother and formerly beloved leader she is trying to impress. Expect lots of laser beams. Christopher Nolan will be asked to direct, but he will most likely decline.

Tagline: He's putting the pieces together ... for peace.

4. Wooly Willy
Magnetic facial-hair wand toy Wooly Willy has been around since the '50s, but this story clearly must take place in modern-day Brooklyn because, why not? Kevin James is Willy Wooly (see what I did there?), a down-on-his-luck barber who can't catch a break ... or a date! After saving a mysterious woman from falling into a manhole, she gives him her wand, and he figures out he has the ability to transform his facial hair into incredibly realistic disguises. At first, he uses the wand for all sorts of antics, like pretending to be famous to score hot ladies, when really he should have been using it to do all sorts of good. Eventually he does, and ends up with his unassuming podiatrist, Eva Longoria, because movies.

Tagline: It's one hairy situation.

5. Baby Alive / Baby All GoneIn this twisted horror flick, a couple, who has been trying to conceive, buys a Baby All Gone for their neighbor's kid but realize the doll has transformed into a real, live baby, so they decide to keep it without telling anyone. The campy throwback, directed by The Duffer Brothers, will be filled with spot-on '90s goodness and all the horror movie references you can count. Something sinister is going on with those cherries, so watch out, kiddos. Cue the creepy nursery songs. That's one freaky infant.

Tagline: It won't stop until they're ... all gone.

6. Polly PocketEverything seems pretty peachy for Polly Pocket -- she's got a sweet job as a fashion and lifestyle blogger, a cool dream house with lots of layers, roller-skates, waterskis, and tons of friends. But she's perpetually single, which is NOT acceptable. Watch Polly (Kristen Bell) as she navigates the contemporary dating world (there are so many Tinder jokes) in this cheery, self-aware rom-com. Her love interest (Anthony Mackie) will be a publishing associate whose company is interested in buying her blog, tasked with (secretly) digging deep into her personal life. The only way to do that? Date her! But they totally fall in love and she finds out why he really asked her out in the first place and it's a huge conflict. Sort of.

Tagline: Love's a game. Just keep playing!

Benedict Cumberbatch Expecting Second Child With Wife Sophie Hunter

Posted:

Premiere Of Disney And Marvel Studios' "Doctor Strange" - ArrivalsBenedict Cumberbatch is expanding his family: The "Doctor Strange" star is expecting his second child with his wife, Sophie Hunter.

E! News was the first to report that Cumberbatch and Hunter had baby number two on the way, with a rep for the actor confirming the news to the site.

"Everyone is absolutely thrilled," Cumberbatch's rep told E!.

The actor and his theater director wife welcomed their first child, a son named Christopher Carlton Cumberbatch, last summer. The pair got engaged in late 2014 (Cumberbatch famously took out a newspaper ad to announce their engagement), and revealed that Hunter was expecting in early 2015. The couple later wed in a Valentine's Day ceremony in England, and Christopher was born in June 2015.

In an interview with "The Graham Norton Show" last year, Cumberbatch discussed fatherhood, calling the experience "everything" and telling the host that he couldn't wait to come home to his wife and son after a long day of work. He also hinted that he and Hunter would love to expand their brood one day.

"I might go for a Cumber-batch of boys!" the actor joked.

Looks like he and Hunter are well on their way. Congrats to the growing family!

Here's the 'Friends' Theme Song Performed by Movie Characters

Posted:

More than 20 years after the series premiered, the "Friends" theme song, "I'll Be There for You," is still as inescapable as ever. Naturally, that makes it ripe for parody, and one YouTube user took it upon himself to mash it up with a bunch of movie characters reciting the lyrics over the backing track. The result is nothing short of brilliant.

In the clip, shared by user The Unusual Suspect, 49 different movies take a swing at "singing" the Rembrandts tune, through the clever use of dialogue -- and some sound effects -- to cover all of the lyrics. The clip begins with Tom Cruise in "Risky Business" turning on the stereo, John Belushi in "The Blues Brothers" counting down, and then a host of characters ranging from Kermit the Frog to Wayne from "Wayne's World" to Anna from "Frozen" begin spouting off the lyrics. And yes, the handclaps are in there, too, thanks to some delightfully-timed cackling from Jim Carrey.

Borat, Elizabeth Banks, Jimmy Stewart, and Arnold Schwarzenegger are some of the many, many stars that make cameos, and featured films include "Zootopia," "Lord of the Rings," "Sex and the City," and "E.T." It's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it jumble movies from different genres and time periods, and it's absolutely fabulous. Check it out above.

'13 Going on 30' to Become a Broadway Musical

Posted:

13 going on 30, musical, broadway, jennifer garnerFirst "Mean Girls" got the official green light to head to the stage, and now, fellow 2004 comedy "13 Going on 30" is also set to become a musical.

Deadline reports that the Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo-starring rom-com will get a Broadway adaptation, produced by industry veterans Andy Fickman ("Heathers: The Musical," "Reefer Madness: The Musical"), Dean Stolber (the musical versions of "Legally Blonde" and "Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert"), and Todd Garner (who produced the "13 Going on 30" movie). Fickman will direct the show, from a book by the film's screenwriters, Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa.

Music and lyrics will be penned by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner (who previously collaborated on Broadway musical "First Date"). And according to Deadline, there's been discussion about licensing some '80s hits that appear in the flick (including "Thriller" and "Love Is a Battlefield," which anchor some memorable scenes) alongside writing original tunes.

"13 Going on 30" followed the adventures of Jenna (Garner), who begins the film as an awkward 13-year-old who yearns to be glamorous and popular. Thanks to some magic dust, her wish to become "thirty, flirty, and thriving" comes true, and she's suddenly transported into the adult world (and an adult body), where she's a high-powered magazine editor. She soon learns, though, that she gave up her childhood BFF Matt (Ruffalo) for a chance to join an exclusive clique.

The film is anchored by Garner's energetic, effervescent performance, and whoever lands the role of Jenna will have some big shoes to fill. But as Fickman explains to Deadline, the movie "has all the elements of a great musical: comedy, romance, an empowering message — and a touch of magic." So it seems the project will certainly make a natural fit for the Great White Way. Stay tuned to see how this one progresses.

Chris Pratt to Guest Star on 'Mom' as Anna Faris Love Interest

Posted:

Premiere Of Universal Pictures' "Jurassic World" - ArrivalsLike his fellow former "Parks and Recreation" costar Amy Poehler, Chris Pratt is also returning to series television, in an upcoming guest starring role on CBS sitcom "Mom."

Entertainment Weekly reports that Pratt will appear on an episode of the series opposite his real-life wife, Anna Faris, who co-headlines the show alongside Allison Janney. In a wink to their offscreen relationship, the "Guardians of the Galaxy" star will play a love interest for Faris's character, Christy.

According to EW, Pratt's character is named Nick, and is " a charming ... horseback riding instructor" who catches Christy's eye. The only problem is that he's the nephew of friend and fellow AA member Marjorie (Mimi Kennedy), who has "declared him off-limits." We're betting that if Pratt/Nick takes his shirt off, though, even Marjorie would understand Christy falling for him.

The married couple -- who got hitched in 2009 and have a 4-year-old son, Jack -- have starred in several projects together before, including the comedies "What's Your Number?," "Take Me Home Tonight," and "Movie 43." This will be the first time they've appeared opposite each other on the small screen.

"Mom" will return for its fourth season on October 27. Pratt's appearance is slated for an episode that will air sometime in January.

John Cleese Prepares You for 'The Walking Dead' Season 7 in This Hilarious Recap

Posted:

As "The Walking Dead" gears up for its season seven premiere this weekend, fans may need to do some brushing up on key plot points from the past six seasons. Thankfully, British comedy legend John Cleese is here to help you out.

In a hilarious video recap compiled by NOW TV, Cleese narrates audiences through six seasons of action on the AMC zombie drama, breaking down the biggest struggles and craziest bad guys our survivors have faced over the years, as well as all the different locations they've ping-ponged between, and all of the harsh lessons they've learned along the way. (Spoiler alert: Never look at the flowers.)

Cleese's posh accent and flippant tone make for an excellent foil to all of the blood and guts and abject sadness on display in the clip, which gives special shout-outs to The Governor, Merle, Terminus, and Bob's foot-turned-chew toy (you momentarily forgot about some of the Termites eating Bob's foot right in front of him, didn't you?). It's only a four-minute clip, but it's a surprisingly detailed summation of all of the horrors our group have faced over the past few years (and a reminder that Coral Carl was practically a baby when all of this started), and ends with the season six finale introduction of Negan.

"But who will survive Negan's bloody beating and incessant rhyming?" Cleese muses at the end of the clip. "You'll have to watch season seven to find out."

In the meantime, we'll be rewatching this hilarious video to distract us from all of the misery that lies ahead. Season seven of "The Walking Dead" debuts on October 23.

Anne Hathaway Was Actually Miserable When She Won Her Oscar

Posted:

85th Annual Academy Awards - Press RoomAfter she won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2013, Anne Hathaway became one of the most polarizing figures in Hollywood, based solely on what audiences perceived as her fake demeanor and overly-earnest acceptance speech. Now, in a revealing new interview, the actress has admitted that there was some truth to those accusing her of adopting a false personality.

While speaking with The Guardian, Hathaway touched on the time leading up to and immediately following her Academy Award win for "Les Miserables." The actress said that filming the movie took a toll on her mental health, and she was still struggling with some inner demons when her name was called during the Oscars ceremony. Then, it was time for another performance.

Here's how she explained it to The Guardian:

I felt very uncomfortable. I kind of lost my mind doing that movie and it hadn't come back yet. Then I had to stand up in front of people and feel something I don't feel which is uncomplicated happiness. It's an obvious thing, you win an Oscar and you're supposed to be happy. I didn't feel that way. I felt wrong that I was standing there in a gown that cost more than some people are going to see in their lifetime, and winning an award for portraying pain that still felt very much a part of our collective experience as human beings. I tried to pretend that I was happy and I got called out on it, big time. That's the truth and that's what happened. It sucks. But what you learn from it is that you only feel like you can die from embarrassment, you don't actually die.

This admission certainly puts Hathaway's behavior in a new light, though we still don't think she deserved all the scorn she got after her big win. Sure, her acceptance speech may have been cheesy (she may never live down cooing "It came true" to her statuette), but being cheesy isn't a crime. At least, with a little space, it seems people have mostly forgiven and forgotten that period. Now we can focus on what's truly important: Making "Princess Diaries 3."

13 Times Mitchell From 'Modern Family' Was Our Sassy Spirit Animal

Mitchell Pritchett (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) is the most underrated character on "Modern Family."

While husband Cam (Eric Stonestreet) can steal a scene or two, no one delivers a sass-filled one-liner or witticism quite like Mitchell. Here are 13 times he truly spoke to our inner sass-monster.

Amy Poehler and Carol Burnett Are Teaming Up for ABC Comedy

Posted:

22nd Annual SAG Awards - BackstageAt long last, two huge names in comedy -- one a recent favorite, one an industry legend -- will make their triumphant returns to series television, with Amy Poehler and Carol Burnett teaming up for a new ABC sitcom.

Variety reports that the as-yet-untitled series focuses on "a family who can only live in the house of their dreams if they live with the current owner, an actress played by Burnett, until she dies." The project from Universal Television (the production company behind some of our favorite shows, including "The Office," "Parks and Recreation," and "30 Rock," among many, many others) was reportedly so popular that it prompted a bidding war between several different networks, with ABC coming out on top.

And who could blame broadcasters for getting excited? It's not every day that an icon like Burnett teams up with a beloved comedienne like Poehler for a network sitcom.

This will mark Poehler's first time as a series regular since "Parks and Rec" wrapped in 2015 (though honestly, it feels like it's been longer). Burnett has been a familiar presence on television screens for more than five decades, cementing her legendary status with her Emmy-winning turn on "The Carol Burnett Show," as well as appearing in dozens of series guest starring roles (most recently on "Hawaii Five-0," "Hot in Cleveland," and "Glee"). Poehler and Tina Fey presented Burnett with the Screen Actors Guild lifetime achievement award earlier this year.

In addition to co-starring in this new series, Poehler will also co-produce, alongside veteran executive producer Michael Saltzman ("Murphy Brown," "Mad Men," "Halt and Catch Fire"). No word yet on when the show may hit TV screens, but ABC has already made a commitment to shoot a pilot. Stay tuned.

'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' Season 2: Rachel Bloom Reveals What's Next for Rebecca

Posted:

2016 Creative Arts Emmy Awards - Arrivals - Night OneShe may be a "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," but there's a method to Rachel Bloom's madness.

The Golden Globe-winning star and co-creator of The CW's quirky musical-comedy series is again singing and dancing across West Covina as the occasionally reality-challenged attorney Rebecca Bunch for a second season of romantic misadventures. But this time, as Bloom reveals, Rebecca's moving forward with a greater degree of self-awareness following her epiphany about exactly why she's doing what she's doing in the SoCal suburb: it's all for the love of Josh Chang.

Bloom dishes all about the new season, the new songs and even a new singer among the returning cast.

What's the big picture scope of Season 2?

Rachel Bloom: Change is hard. Changing your life is hard: once you isolate what might make you happy, how do you actually put that into practice? And so that's something we're really exploring. That's why we have a new theme song because the old theme song was the thesis statement of Season 1, which is denial: "I happen to be where Josh lives. That's why I'm here." And that's not the season anymore. She's blatantly been like, "Yep. That's why I'm here." And so where we go from there.

You guys set a pretty high bar for yourselves already.

Luckily, we kind of know the overall arc of the series, so we know what we wanted to do with her this season emotionally, and what we wanted to do with the rest of the characters. So it's a matter of just following that line, and how do you execute that?

It's been interesting to see her grow as a person, and still not lose sources of comedy in her character. What was the challenge of finding new jokes in the evolving Rebecca?

Well, now, she's finally admitting she's in love. Whatever shape that is, there were so many -- I mean, we couldn't do many love songs last year because she was in denial for a lot of the time. And so the ability to even do that opens up a whole different world. Even though, if she's rejected or whatever, the idea to actually have her admit to herself certain feelings and be in the throes of all of these things that she's not denying anymore, it opens up this whole new world of stories and songs.

Where does the new season pick up?

I will say it's more than a second and less than 20 years. It's going to absolutely explore every repercussion of what just happened.

Where is she at with her relationship with Paula?

Good. They came to kind of a detente, kind of a conclusion. But Paula and her, they kind of made up before she slept with Josh, and so that has repercussions as well. And Paula is going to be exploring within herself: "Why did I act the way I did?" And Paula is doing a lot of soul searching this season.

I'm really excited for what we do with Paula this season and what Donna Lynne [Champlin] does with it. We just filmed the musical number with her the other day, and she just knocks it out of the park. And man, I am trying so hard to get her a Golden Globe Award. I mean, everyone in our cast is amazing, but the things she does with the character of Paula and works with us on, I'm really excited for what we're doing with Paula and exploring what is the feminism with the character of Paula, and what are her dreams? What are her goals? She's not just a sidekick.

Are we going to see some new characters or faces return?

Gabrielle Ruiz is now a series regular, so that's really exciting. We will be seeing some new [characters], but not for a while. There are a lot of things to deal with just the characters we have. But you'll see.

And Daryl and White Josh ...?

They are still going strong! They are my favorite. I mean, I got to be on set when they first kissed, and man, my heart, like the Grinch, grew like five sizes. I love them as a couple. We love writing storylines for them. They're both brilliant actors, I mean, brilliant.

And David Hull -- the character of White Josh has changed so much because David Hull, beefcake-looking gym trainer, is whip smart and so insightful. And so it's been so funny to explore the contradictions within a character like that, what could be a joke. "Oh, he's a gym trainer, and he's kind of like this buddy. And he could be a dimwit, and he's not a dimwit at all." He's really smart and insightful, and I love that relationship.

Has the music come easily? Were you afraid you might dry out after doing so many songs in Season 1?

It's definitely - because we've done so many songs and so many songs last season were things that I've always wanted to do, with a musical TV show, we come around this season, we've got to think a little bit more for genres, but I'm really proud of what we've been doing.

But ah, man, there's one song in particular, I'll tell you about it after it airs. We had six or seven drafts in the trash bin. And so some come easy. There was another draft that we wrote in 15 minutes, so it's 15 minutes to five days.

It's a train that keeps moving no matter what I do. So all you can do, if you're falling a little behind, is run as fast as you can and you'll catch up with the train. But that's the thing, there's no choice but to work. Especially for me: every day I get to set, I have to be in these scenes. So even if I'm like, "I'm not feeling it today," that doesn't matter.

I work with such amazing people. We are getting to do the exact show we want to do. So every day, even on the hardest days, it's still fun and it still is a joy. And often the hardest days are the music video days, which are also the most fun days. So there's a real big payoff for everyone on the crew.

Tell me about the musical genres you get to play with.

Sure, sure. We have "Lemonade," it's not a parody, but it's a "Lemonade"-like sendoff in the very first episode that's just this kind of very high production value, dreamy, filled with symbolism and metaphor musical number. We have kind of a late '90s rock song coming off. We have a Disney song. Paula does a Disney song, let's just say. That's a lot. There you go.

Did anybody get a little more musical attention than they got in Season 1 this time around? Do we see other characters that are getting more singing time or dancing time?

Coming up is Vella Lovell, who plays Heather Davis -- she has some songs coming up!

What's the big challenge you wanted to set for yourself in Season 2 -- for you in particular?

Make it still feel real, and to keep challenging ourselves and keep doing new stuff, especially with the musical numbers. Not touch on things we've done before. Last season was so bucket list, especially personally for a lot of the songs we did. So this season, it's like, "Okay, how do we do new stuff that doesn't feel less-than? That doesn't feel like a 'de-heightening?'"

Season 2 of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" premieres Friday, October 21, on The CW.
