Watch: From 'Dawn of the Dead' to 'Batman v Superman,' Everything You Need to Know About Zack Snyder

Posted: 24 Mar 2016 09:30 PM PDT

Director Zack Snyder broke out in a big way after delivering one of the best horror remakes in recent memory, 2004's Dawn of the Dead. Amusingly enough, that movie's title shares a word with Snyder's latest film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, in theaters now. Snyder is responsible for some of the most visually stunning action films of our time, and now he's applying his dynamic stylings to the DC cinematic universe, directing Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the upcoming Justice League. It took him awhile to get to that point, though. First he had to flex those Spartan muscles. Check out this retrospective on Snyder's film career below, and learn why Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman chose wisely when it came to the director...

'War Dogs' Trailer: Jonah Hill and Miles Teller Love Being Scumbags

Posted: 24 Mar 2016 08:00 PM PDT

War Dogs may sound like the name of a movie about werewolf soldiers, but it's actually the new title for the previously announced Arms and the Dudes. Directed by Todd Phillips (the Hangover trilogy), the comedy stars Jonah Hill and Miles Teller as two entrepreneurial, party-loving bros who land a contract with the U.S. government for $300 million to supply weapons and ammunition to the Afghan military. That may sound like a silly premise making fun of the way the U.S. government spends money, but the crazy thing is that War Dogs is actually based on a true story. The movie, co-written by Phillips, is an adaptation of the 2015 non-fiction book Arms and the Dudes: How Three Stoners from Miami Beach Became the Most Unlikely Gunrunners in History. That full title should give you...

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' Reviewed by a Superman Geek

Posted: 24 Mar 2016 05:30 PM PDT

Note: Nothing in this review will go beyond what's already revealed in the trailers and promotional material so consider it spoiler free. What happens when the two most iconic fictional figures of the last century finally face off on the silver screen for the first time? Well, I won’t tell you here, but it’s pretty awesome. Superman, the first superhero to don a cape and tights squares off against Batman, the antithetical superhero with no powers. They’ve teamed up numerous times since their respective inceptions, but comic book writers like John Byrne and Frank Miller eventually discovered that their disparate methods of crime fighting would appropriately put them at odds. Superman was always the obvious choice to win because he had abilities beyond...

Watch First 'Bridget Jones's Baby' Trailer

Posted: 24 Mar 2016 04:00 PM PDT

Twenty years ago, Bridget Jones's Diary became a publishing sensation. Helen Fielding's novel perfectly captured the turmoils and triumphs of a thirtysomething British woman, hitting a chord with readers and critics. A sequel, Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason, followed in 1999, and soon thereafter a film version of the first book started production. Born in Texas, Renée Zellweger nonetheless snagged the lead role. Her winning, convincing performance proved that all that counts is what's on the screen. The movie reflected its time as much as the book did a few years before. It became a smash at the box office, earning more than $281 million worldwide, and Zellweger earned an Academy Award nomination as best actress. Three years later, Zellweger reprised her...

See the Female Warriors of 'Wonder Woman' Strike a Badass Pose in This New Image

Posted: 24 Mar 2016 02:30 PM PDT

With Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hitting theaters this week, Warner Bros. is taking the chance to throw us some goodies for their other upcoming superhero movies, including the first teaser for The Lego Batman Movie and now this new image from next year's solo Wonder Woman movie, starring Gal Gadot. Gadot's too-cool-for-school approach to Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman, is arguably one of the best parts of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. She's clearly a character who's been there and done that, and it's refreshing to see a female superhero lasso in to save the day for a change.  The image above (courtesy of EW) features four female Amazonian warriors of Themyscira, Wonder Woman's home. It's there that Diana stands alongside her...

The other, which comes out several months earlier (on February 10, 2017) is another follow-up of sorts, only for the wildly successful The Lego Movie. Lego Batman is back! And he's brought with him his own movie! As the amusing first trailer for The Lego Batman Movie reveals, Batman is still busy fighting crime alongside his Justice League pals by night, and by late-night he's, um, microwaving lobster all by his lonesome... like a boss! Check it out. Will Arnett returns as the perfectly-cast voice of Lego...
