Watch: New Trailers for 'Trainspotting 2,' 'Goon 2' and 'The Last Face'

Posted: 23 Nov 2016 07:00 PM PST

Take a virtual trip to foreign lands with our latest roundup of trailers, which includes two upcoming sequels about bad boys and a serious drama about do-gooders. Check out new spots for T2: Trainspotting, Goon: Last of the Enforcers and The Last Face below.   T2: Trainspotting  The new international trailer for the Trainspotting sequel features Portuguese subtitles and is a lot like the official UK version we got before, only longer. There's a bit of plot injection at one point, which accounts the additional footage, while another section seems to substitute lines for the other's talk of drugs (maybe that has been censored). All in all, the trailer is just another means of getting us excited for the 20-year-later...

That 'Boba Fett' Solo Movie Was Very, Very Close To Happening

Posted: 23 Nov 2016 05:00 PM PST

When Disney first announced that they would be making Star Wars spin-off films, it lit a flame in fans who'd spent decades wanting to see their favorite characters get their own movies. When Disney then refused to say who the subjects of those spin-offs would be, everyone went a little crazy with speculation. But among all the rumors and chaos and sheer fabrications, two projects seemed to always seem more credible than most. One was a solo Boba Fett movie, the other was a movie about the team of rebels who stole the plans to the original Death Star. Clearly the latter came to pass - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters in only three weeks!! - but how close did we get to Boba Fett actually happening? Incredibly close, apparently.   Here's a timeline of what...

'John Wick' Director Gives the 'Highlander' Remake a New Chance at Immortality

Posted: 23 Nov 2016 03:00 PM PST

There are a few remakes that just seem flat out cursed to spend eternity in development hell. Perhaps the most notable is The Crow, which not only routinely cycles through stars and directors, but also production companies. At this point if The Crow ever actually happens, it'll be a Hollywood miracle. The Crow isn't the only movie that thrived on VHS that's in development hell. There's also Highlander. Five few years ago it had been reported that Fast & Furious director Justin Lin would be updating the film about immortals living secretly among men. Obviously that never happened. A few more hopped on, most notably including 28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo. And back in 2012, while Deadpool was in its own special ring of development hell, Ryan...

Casey Affleck and Rooney Mara Made a Secret Movie Together

Posted: 23 Nov 2016 01:30 PM PST

Nowadays it's pretty rare for high-profile talent to make a movie without news leaking out. Ethan Hawke, Julie Delpy and director Richard Linklater pulled it off when they made Before Midnight together and Linklater did it over a period of 12 years with Boyhood, which featured Hawke and Patricia Arquette. More recently, we've seen two movies that were produced "in disguise." Producer J.J. Abrams' 10 Cloverfield Lane and director Adam Wingard's Blair Witch were made under different titles with no initially reported connections to their respective originals. Now Casey Affleck, Rooney Mara and filmmaker David Lowery have pulled it off. Affleck says: "I did one this summer, with the same [crew] -- it’s me and Rooney [Mara] again, who did...
