Posted: 25 Nov 2015 09:00 PM PST

The Good Dinosaur is here and you know what means: prepare for tears, laughter, awe, etc. Pixar, the envy of all animation houses and the home to some of the most brilliant storytellers in the film industry, are here to win us over again. It's hard to imagine their new movie, which follows a young dinosaur and his pet human on a grand adventure, lacking in at least a few stirring moments. So let's take a look back at some of the best moments in the Pixar canon. These scenes are funny and sad and dramatic and, sometimes, quietly revolutionary. But each and every one is perfect.   From the Bottom Up (Monsters University) Although it is minor Pixar, Monsters University concludes with an epilogue of stunning and hopeful honesty. Who Is Apollo Creed? A Brief History of Rocky's Greatest Rival (and Friend)

Posted: 25 Nov 2015 07:30 PM PST

The story of Rocky is legend, and at this point, most of us can either rattle off Rocky’s boxing accomplishments across his six films or relate the story of how wannabe movie star Sylvester Stallone wrote a little boxing movie for himself and became an icon in the process. This is not that story. This is the story of Creed, the fighter from the first four Rocky films, who went on to quite unexpectedly spawn a film bearing his name all these years later in 2015. We knew Creed was always a worthy opponent, but we never expected Creed to be such a worthy sequel/spin-off movie. We’re absolutely delighted to report - it’s damn good. Michael B. Jordan completely inhabits Adonis Creed, Apollo’s illegitimate son, fighting out from under the shadow of a father...

You Will Love Google's Hidden 'Star Wars' Easter Egg

Posted: 25 Nov 2015 06:00 PM PST

As part of a promotion for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Google is doing all sorts of fun little things to get you in the mood to have your Force awakened. Fans can start by going to google.com/starwars and choosing either the light or dark side, and then watching as that side infiltrates their online lives in a number of ways. For example, watching videos on YouTube becomes more Star Wars-y, and that runs across all things Google, like Gmail and Google Search. You can see what it looks like on YouTube below -- notice the red lightsaber look? And when you toy with pausing and unpausing, you'll hear lightsaber sounds.   It's within Google Search, though, that Google hid the coolest Star Wars Easter egg of all. When you search for the words "a long time ago...

Kevin Bacon to Kill More Graboids In New 'Tremors' TV Show

Posted: 25 Nov 2015 04:10 PM PST

This week Screen Crush writer Matt Singer coined the term legacyquel, a catch-all description of any new movie built to piggyback off of an earlier generation's fondness for said movie. And he is absolutely right when he says we are now living in the age of the legacyquel.  In the past few years we've seen these franchise movies that combine past and present explode. X-Men: Days of Future Past, Tron: Legacy, A Good Day to Die Hard, Star Trek, Terminator Genisys, Vacation, Creed and, soon, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. But it's not just the big screen that's falling in love with the legacyquel. The small screen is catching on to the trend, too. Here's looking at you, impending returns for The X-Files, Twin Peaks and Full House. And now some...

Posted: 25 Nov 2015 01:30 PM PST

Lest we forget, the Star Wars universe has been constructed around exciting action sequences ever since the first episode hit movie screens back in 1977. Judging by the teasers and trailers that have been released so far, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will continue that action-packed tradition in new and exciting ways. It's fitting, then, that new promotional images reveal key players from the movie in action-ready poses. The six images adorn a special issue of Empire Magazine, a British print journal; all six cover images use lenticular 3D technology to dazzle the eyes. While we can't yet reproduce the 3D imagery, we can provide a look at the images, featuring the movie's leading players, starting with Rey (Daisy Ridley) and her faithful droid companion...
