See Michael J. Fox Try On the New Self-Lacing Nike Shoes Inspired By 'Back to the Future'

Posted: 22 Oct 2015 03:19 AM PDT

UPDATE: Well, today is the day Nike promised us a pair of self-lacing sneakers just like the ones Marty McFly wore in Back to the Future II. So where are they? When reached for comment, Nike did confirm to ABC News that the first pair of self-lacing sneakers does indeed exist and they are in New York City today. Why New York City? Most likely to coincide with an anniversary celebration tonight featuring a cast reunion followed by a Q&A and a screening of Back to the Future II. There's no word on whether the sneakers will be available to the public or if they were created solely to show off on Back to the Future Day, but good news is we'll have those answers by the end of the day.  UPDATE 2: Michael J. Fox has revealed a letter sent to him today from Nike...

10 Ways to Celebrate 'Back to the Future' Day

Posted: 21 Oct 2015 10:00 PM PDT

So, there are screenings, a new Blu-ray release, a new book and finally the release of Nike's self-lacing sneakers, among other tie-ins and commemorative events. Here are ten things to see and do and watch as part of the celebration:   USA Today Cover  USA Today is of the many brands featured in the movie now participating in the celebration. But they're kind of waiting for tomorrow to do so. That's when you'll be able to pick up an October 22, 2015, newspaper with a front page that looks almost exactly like the one from BTTF2. Now You Can Listen to Only the Music from the 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Trailer

Posted: 21 Oct 2015 09:00 PM PDT

There are many things to love about the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer, like seeing Han and Leia embrace or Kylo Ren whispering sweet nothings at Darth Vader's crushed mask. But there's a reason why this trailer gives you all kinds of feels, and much of it really has to be credited to the music, which uses some of John Williams' iconic score to put us all through changes... (and that's a tough-guy way of saying it almost always makes us cry). The good news? John Williams is returning to Star Wars and you'll be able to hear his The Force Awakens soundtrack when it hits on December 18th (preorder it here). The somewhat-but-not-really-all-that-disappointing news? The new trailer does not feature that soundtrack. The music you hear is a combination of...

Exclusive 'Bone Tomahawk' Clip Explains Why Smart Men Don't Get Married

Posted: 21 Oct 2015 06:15 PM PDT

The Western is making a bit of a comeback these days. This year has already given us Slow West and The Keeping Room, while the near future offers The Hateful Eight, Jane Got a Gun, and In a Valley of Violence. Before that next wave of movies hits, though, fans of the genre can sink their teeth into the grizzly meat of Bone Tomahawk. Sporting a stellar cast that includes Kurt Russell, Patrick Wilson, Matthew Fox, and Richard Jenkins, Bone Tomahawk is about a Sheriff (Russell) who leads a team of gunslingers to rescue settlers kidnapped by a tribe of cannibals. If the words "Kurt Russell," "Western," "team of gunslingers" and "cannibals," don't excite you, then we don't know what will and are, frankly, afraid to find...

First 'Jane Got a Gun' Trailer Features a Very Pissed Off Natalie Portman

Posted: 21 Oct 2015 04:10 PM PDT

Here's a simple truth: No movie is easy to make. Every single production is going to have its problems. Cast members having to drop out because of prior contractual obligations. Locations have to be changed because permits don't get secured. Money falls through at the last minute. Crucial crew members can get fired in the middle of a shoot because they're not delivering. All of these things may sound drastic, but they are common place in filmmaking and by no means a guarantee that a movie will end up being bad. All of this is to say that the first trailer for Jane Got a Gun, which had its original director and key cast members replaced at the last minute, looks pretty dang great, with no indication whatsoever that its surprisingly public production problems hurt the...

Chris Rock to Host Academy Awards Again -- Watch All His Best Oscar Moments

Posted: 21 Oct 2015 02:30 PM PDT

Chris Rock has confirmed he'll be the next Academy Awards show host. He previously hosted the 2005 broadcast. Ratings for this year's show, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, fell some 16% leading to the installment of two new producers in September: television veteran David Hill (American Idol) and Reginald Hudlin (NAACP Image Awards). Hudlin is also an experienced director who helmed the pilot episode for Rock's TV show Everybody Hates Chris, so presumably that means he already has a good working relationship with Rock. Rock himself just directed the comedy special Amy Schumer Live at the Apollo, which aired last weekend, and also wrote, directed, and starred in last year's comedy Top Five. But he's best known as a live performer, so he sounds like a...

Posted: 21 Oct 2015 01:00 PM PDT

No other trio is on as big of a hot streak as Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and David O'Russell. With Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle, the three dominated multiple awards seasons by delivering darkly energetic tales both romantic and hilarious at times, all about family, hope and conquering the American Dream.  In their latest, Joy, the three are back -- as is Robert De Niro, who starred in both Playbook and Hustle -- and once again they're weaving a tale around the real-life story of a woman who rose to become head of a powerful family business. Inspired by the life of Joy Mangano, who created the Miracle Mop and later went on to lead a company boasting over $1 billion in sales, the full-length trailer for Joy -- complete with all the darkly...
