Here are a bunch of little bites to satisfy your hunger for movie culture:   Movie Parody of the Day: If you don't like the flawed version of Steve Jobs seen in Steve Jobs, maybe you'll like the (fake) biopic he (Vulture) made about himself:   Movie-themed Business of the Day: Here's a new bar in New York City devoted to all things Will Ferrell. The best part is the signature drinks named for his best movie quotes (via /Film):   We are open Monday -Saturday from 4pm and starting November 12pm! #stayclassybar #stayclassynyc A photo posted by Stay Classy New York (@stayclassybar) on Oct 11, 2015 at 12:26pm PDT     @makeupbyblair thank you sooooo much! Leonardo DiCaprio Is Making a Movie About the Volkswagen Emissions Scandal

Posted: 13 Oct 2015 09:00 PM PDT

Leonardo DiCaprio is making another movie based on a true story. The actor, whose many Oscar and Golden Globe nominations include recognitions for portrayals of real-life figures Howard Hughes, Frank Abagnale, J. Edgar Hoover and Jordan Belfort, is taking on the story of the recent Volkswagen emissions scandal. Here's what we know so far: What is the Volkswagen emissions scandal?  Last month, through the issuing of a violation notice by the EPA, it was revealed that Volkswagen had been cheating emissions test in the U.S. and elsewhere since 2008. After realizing that their expensive new diesel engines wouldn't pass emissions tests in many countries, the company programmed their cars' software to fake it when tested. Since the news broke, Volkswagen's...

'Friday the 13th: The Game' Promises You The Complete Jason Voorhees Experience

Posted: 13 Oct 2015 07:30 PM PDT

Last year a team of independent game developers/horror movie fans set out to make a video game inspired by '80s slasher movies titled Slasher Vol. 1: Summer Camp. They were pitching it as an asymmetrical multiplayer game, which is just a fancy way of saying one person played as a Jason Voorhees-esque slasher and everyone else played as his potential victims who have to find ways to survive, escape or kill their camp tormentor.  While Slasher Vol. 1 was in development, Friday the 13th director Sean S. Cunningham was trying to get a game of his own off the ground. Cunningham found out about this other game that was essentially just a love letter to his movie, and instead of finding some legal way to kill it, he approached the developers about merging the two and...

New York City Is Being Pranked with Signs for Movie Sequels That Don't Exist

Posted: 13 Oct 2015 06:00 PM PDT

Annie Hall 2? The Godfather IV? Do the Right Thing 2?  According to signs posted around New York City right now, these sequels are all being made as we speak!  Ah, but there's a catch. A couple of local pranksters are currently taking advantage of the typical "No Parking" sign signaling a movie or television production has taken over a street or neighborhood by posting fake signs for horrible movie sequels that do not exist. No, Woody Allen is not making an Annie Hall sequel anytime soon. Thank god. Jason Eppink and Mike Lacher -- who once created a fake "tourist lane" on the streets of New York (pictured below) -- are the ones behind the prank, which has apparently taken on a life of its own since, according to...

Steve Zahn to Bring the Comedy and/or Drama to 'War for the Planet of the Apes'

Posted: 13 Oct 2015 04:30 PM PDT

The ever-likable and versatile actor Steve Zahn (above in A Perfect Getaway) has joined the cast of War for the Planet of the Apes. Zahn will play a new ape character, according to Deadline, though no details have been revealed. The secrecy is part and parcel of the project, which has been written by Matt Reeves and Mark Bomback, and will be directed by Reeves, who guided the previous installment, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, to great success, including box office returns that exceeded $700 million worldwide. Dawn left uncertain the future of humanity, as men battled with apes led by Caesar (Andy Serkis), with greater warfare looming in the days ahead. Since 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes, the relaunch of the series has gained momentum, though it makes some...

Steven Spielberg Teases 'Indiana Jones 5' with Harrison Ford

Posted: 13 Oct 2015 01:30 PM PDT

Will it or won't it happen? That's the big question, and each month seems to bring a different answer. Back in May, Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy confirmed there is a desire to make another Indiana Jones movie, though there wasn't any timeline. In June, after a rumor surfaced that Disney would release Indy 5 in 2018, producer Frank Marshall squashed it, saying there had been no Indy 5 discussions. Cut to: now! While promoting Bridge of Spies alongside its star Tom Hanks, Spielberg joked about how many films he's done with Hanks and Harrison Ford, alluding to the fact that he does indeed have plans to make another Indiana Jones movie with Ford. "We’ve gotta figure this out because now, Tom is tied with Harrison Ford: Harrison and I did four...

Movie News: First Look at 'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' From Milla Jovovich

Posted: 13 Oct 2015 12:00 PM PDT

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter: Since production began, Milla Jovovich has been sharing photos from the franchise-concluding Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, and now she's provided the first look at the movie itself. Admittedly, the screen capture of Jovovich as Alice looks pretty rough, but that's balanced by a photo of the evident joy of the actors on set. The film is heading for theaters on January 27, 2017. [Instagram via Coming Soon]   The Gray Man: Charlize Theron (Mad Max: Fury Road) is in talks to star in The Gray Man, based on a novel by Mark Greaney about a man who is "an expert CIA op-turned-assassin ... forced to evade adversaries as he saves the lives of daughters he didn’t know he had." Joe and Anthony Russo (Captain...
