Exclusive 'Fury' Behind-the-Scenes Clip: Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf Champion David Ayer

Posted: 27 Jan 2015 08:45 PM PST

Fury, which hits Blu-ray and DVD today, is about the five-man crew of a United States army tank that set out on a potentially suicidal mission behind enemy lines to stop the Nazis from gaining a crucial foothold against the Allied armies. Anchoring everything around this single tank and its team already sets it apart from other WWII movies, but what takes it even a step further is that director David Ayer isn't just making a generic action movie with tanks. War is hell, and few movies show that hellscape better than Fury. Death lingers in nearly every corner of the frame, and this constant visual that the world is burning and crumbling and bleeding around these five men gives the movie this unbelievable sense of dread that's more apocalyptic than most movies that are...

The New 'Ghostbusters': Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones

Posted: 27 Jan 2015 07:08 PM PST

The '80s reboot-recasting movie news continues today, and while Chris Pratt as Indiana Jones is heavily just a rumor for now, the all-female Ghostbusters lineup has officially filled out a bit. According to various sources, these are the four lucky ladies who will all be bustin' some ghosts: Kristen Wiig Melissa McCarthy Kate McKinnon Leslie Jones Those first two names were obvious considering director Paul Feig already worked with both on Bridesmaids, and their names have been swirling around ever since he landed the high-profile remake. If you don't recognize those last two names, however, you may want to tune in to Saturday Night Live. They're both cast members on this current season, and both are very funny comedians primed for a bigger...

Disney Reportedly Wants Chris Pratt As Its New 'Indiana Jones'

Posted: 27 Jan 2015 05:55 PM PST

Back when Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012, all eyes were on Star Wars. And rightfully so, since the main reason Disney wanted the house George Lucas built was so that it could make a new trilogy (and then some). But that was far from the only lucrative property under Lucas' thumb. They also have one of the most beloved film characters of all time in the mix: Indiana Jones. Since that acquisition, there have been quite a few rumors about a new Indiana Jones movie, but nothing solid has risen to the surface. Now there's a new rumor to throw in the mix, but this one is so obvious and logical that it may very well be true: Disney wants Chris Pratt to headline a new Indiana Jones franchise. It is strictly a rumor at this point, as Deadline insists Disney won't comment so...

A 'Rush Hour' TV Show Is Coming from the Creator of 'Scrubs'

Posted: 27 Jan 2015 03:00 PM PST

Buddy-cop comedies used to be all of the rage back in the day. Heck, in the 1980s, movie studios were legally required to make every other movie a cop comedy. (Note: May not be historically accurate.) They waned a bit in the '90s, but then Rush Hour came along and seemed to reinvigorate audience's appetites for mismatched cops coming together to take down a criminal boss. Since then, the cop comedy has once again gone into a bit of hibernation on the big screen, but it's alive and well on the small screen. Shows like Castle and Elementary are big hits, and they're basically just buddy-cop shows where one of the partners technically isn't a police officer. And since they are still popular in TV land, that's where the Rush Hour franchise is heading. Or...

'Fantastic Four' Trailer Is Here: The Thing! Johnny Storm! The Negative Zone!

Posted: 27 Jan 2015 12:30 PM PST

The first teaser trailer for the Fantastic Four reboot has arrived! The superhero movie stars Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell as the titular quartet and is directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle). Yesterday Trank and screenwriter Simon Kinberg broke their long silence about the movie, revealing a few unexpected details to Collider. The most surprising of the bunch? Trank's biggest influence on the way he made Fantastic Four wasn't a comic line or another brand of superhero movie, it was the dense, difficult sci-fi of director David Cronenberg. "I would say that the science fiction of it is a big thing that sets it apart from most of the other superhero genre films. I’m a huge David Cronenberg fan, and I always viewed Fantastic...

The Fantastic Four: Director Josh Trank has shared the first official behind-the-scenes photos from The Fantastic Four. Due in theaters on August 7, the movie teams Michael B. Jordan, Miles Teller, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell as the titular superheroes. Trank confirms that it's an origin story, and adds that David Cronenberg's Scanners and The Fly were "big influences on the look of the film." We'll have to wait a few more months to see what, exactly, all that means. [Collider]   Star Wars: A couple of weeks ago, we heard that Gary Whitta, the writer for the first Star Wars spin-off movie, had departed the project. Now comes word that an Academy Award-nominated writer Chris Weitz (About a Boy, Disney's upcoming Cinderella) is replacing him. The...
