'Walking Dead' Casts New Series Regular Role

Posted:

Walking DeadA new face is coming to "The Walking Dead" - one who might be a key gay character in the comic series.

The AMC drama is adding relative newcomer Ross Marquand as a series regular for the second half of season 5 and possibly season 6. While Marquand's role was not revealed, many are speculating whether he plays the "very prominent" gay character teased by comic creator Robert Kirkman on "Talking Dead."

That character would likely be - SPOILERS! - Aaron, a resident of Alexandria Safe-Zone. In the comics, he meets Rick and crew while they're on the road to Washington D.C., which is right where the show's storyline left off in the midseason finale. So, it seems highly likely that when "The Walking Dead" returns on Feb. 8, the zombie-fighting group soon runs into Aaron and are recruited by him to join Alexandria. In the comics, Aaron's work and romantic partner is Eric.

With the deaths of several major characters in the first half of season 5, "The Walking Dead" seems to be restocking. Along with Marquand, Alexandra Breckinridge is joining the cast, also in an unknown role (though now it's likely that she'll play someone in Alexandria).

Paddington Creates Bathroom Havoc in This Exclusive Clip (VIDEO)

Posted:

Paddington Bear's first night in a home with the Brown family is full of excitement -- perhaps a little too much excitement.
Paddington - Clip No. 1 - Exclusive
In this exclusive clip from "Paddington," the little Peruvian bear experiments with toothbrushes, tries mouthwash, and inadvertently floods the entire bathroom. This exclusive gives you a good idea of how great "Paddington" looks, with its fabulous mix of CG and live action; the wind ruffling Paddington's fur looks just as awesome as the Browns' cute London house.

Even though American audiences are usually suspicious of January releases, we can reassure you from firsthand experience that "Paddington" rocks. If you don't believe us, maybe you'll believe the millions of people who saw it since its opening in the UK in November. This marmalade-loving bear even beat out "The Hunger Games" at the UK box office, which is no small feat.

Ben Whishaw is the voice of Paddington. Its human stars include Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Samuel Joslin, and Madeleine Harris as the Brown family, with Nicole Kidman as a cruel taxidermist and Peter Capaldi as the Browns' kooky neighbor.

"Paddington" opens on January 16 across the nation.

Will Spider-Man Be in the 'Avengers: Infinity War' Movie?

Posted:

Amazing Spider-ManAmongst the juicy tidibts that came out of the Sony hack was the revelation that the company had met with Marvel to discuss including Spider-Man in their cinematic universe. A deal was, unfortunately, not made then, but now comes a rumor that the two sides have finally shaken hands.

Latino Review reports that Sony has agreed to allow Spider-Man (over which it has film rights) to appear in "Avengers: Infinity War - Part I" in 2018. "We'll see an MCU Spider-Man in Infinity Wars Part 1, as that was the next logical place to insert him after they missed the window to logically include him in [Captain America 3] Civil War," the site claims.

They also contend that Andrew Garfield, who starred in "The Amazing Spider-Man" and "Amazing Spider-Man 2," would not play the part in the Marvel universe.

It's all rumors and hearsay, and totally unsubstantiated. But if what Latino Review says is true, there will be a major reshuffling of the "Avengers" lineup by the time "Infinity War" comes out. (There are massive spoilers in their report about "Captain America: Civil War" and the next "Thor" movie.)

And what it could mean for Sony's "Spider-Man" movies is unclear. Would Garfield star in a third film? Are they still hoping to launching Sinister Six and female-centric spinoffs?

There are still a lot of questions, but if Sony and Marvel have made a deal, it could mean exciting things for the superhero movie genre.

Here's Where You Can Watch 'Game of Thrones' on IMAX

Posted:

Game of Thrones"Game of Thrones" fans will have to wait an additional week to see the HBO show on IMAX - but now, more of them will have the chance to do it.

The screenings of season 4's final two episodes, "The Watchers on the Wall" and "The Children," will start January 29, a week later than originally scheduled. That's because "extraordinary consumer response" has prompted IMAX to add 50 more theaters. The full list of theaters is available on IMAX's website.

Screenings will take place across the country, in major cities including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Seattle, and Washington, D.C. Along with the two episodes, an exclusive trailer for season 5 - which premieres April 12 - will play.

"Game of Thrones" is the first television series to come to IMAX, which is no big surprise considering the show's epic battle scenes, lush production design, and fantastical creatures.

Hugh Grant's 'The Rewrite' Release Date and Photos Revealed (EXCLUSIVE)

Posted:

If there's one certifiable kingpin of the romantic comedy genre, it's probably Hugh Grant, whose affable nervousness and pretty boy good looks have been an intrinsic part of the genre for the past few decades. (Last year, in the terrific comedy "The Trip to Italy," a philandering husband used a Hugh Grant impression to hit on a woman he wanted to sleep with. Even the dastardliest deeds sound positively charming when given that Hugh Grant sheen.) And one of Grant's chief collaborators over the years has been writer/director Marc Lawrence, who shepherded Grant through "Two Weeks Notice," the very underrated "Music and Lyrics," and "Did You Hear About the Morgans?" Their latest comedy, "The Rewrite," premiered last year at the Shanghai International Film Festival, but since so few of us had time to swing by the Shanghai International Film Festival, you should be pleased to know that it's getting a domestic release date -- and we can exclusively reveal when.

"The Rewrite," which stars Grant as a failed Hollywood screenwriter who takes up a teaching position at a small college and promptly falls in love with a gorgeous single mother taking his class (Marisa Tomei), will debut in American theaters on February 13th. That's right folks -- a Hugh Grant romantic comedy debuting on Valentine's Day. Could it get any better?

Oh wait, it does: the cast includes Bella Heathcote, Allison Janney, Chris Elliott, and future Oscar winner (trust us on that one) J.K. Simmons.

So again, "The Rewrite" will be coming out on February 13th. And you know where to get tickets and everything else "Rewrite"-related, right? Yep. Moviefone.

'Avatar' Sequel Pushed Back to 2017

Posted:

The trip back to Pandora just got a little longer. James Cameron announced that the sequel to "Avatar" won't be out until 2017 because writing a trilogy that will fit together perfectly is much more complicated that he anticipated. Remember, this is coming from someone who's been to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, the deepest and creepiest part of the ocean, so we can only imagine what he's got planned for the peeps of Pandora. Cameron is actually planning three more "Avatar" movies that will be released a year apart, so those have all been bumped back.

Cameron said, "There's a layer of complexity in getting the story to work as a saga across three films that you don't get when you're making a stand-alone film... We're writing three simultaneously. And we've done that so that everything tracks throughout the three films. We're not just going to do one and then make up another one and another one after that. And parallel with that, we're doing all the design. So we've designed all the creatures and the environments."

Stay tuned for more news from the land of Na'vi. Disney is currently hard at work building an "Avatar"-inspired attraction at Animal Kingdom - but that probably won't be done until 2017.

Colin Firth Has Tons of Cool Toys in 'Kingsman' Clip (VIDEO)

Posted:

KSS_JB_D69_06371 - Harry (Colin Firth), an impeccably suave spy, helps Eggsy (Taron Egerton) turn his life around by trying out for a position with Kingsman, a top-secret independent intelligence organization.
In the latest clip from "Kingsman: The Secret Service," Colin Firth's Harry Hart gives his young charge Eggsy (Taron Egerton) the official tour of the secret spy gadget closet. As any stylish spy knows, it's important to wear a smart oxford or brogue, especially when there's a knife secreted away in the heel. Those umbrellas come in handy for more than just a quick downpour, of course. And then there are the guns. Lots of guns.

Matthew Vaughn's upcoming spy flick looks like lots of fun, and it's one of Moviefone's most anticipated films of 2015. As per Drew Taylor, "Kingsman" is "a brilliantly subversive take on the spy genre that also sets itself up to be the beginning of a compelling new franchise." It will also be cool to see Firth kick a little butt; the "King's Speech" star is not typically known for action, much less the comic book kind.

"Kingsman: The Secret Service" opens February 13.

'Wet Hot American Summer' Netflix Show Adds Tons of New Campers

Posted:

Wet Hot American Summer
Camp Firewood, home to the many high jinks of the "Wet Hot American Summer" crew, is getting crowded with all sorts of new characters.

The upcoming Netflix show has added a host of actors to the sprawling original cast, which will include practically all of the stars from the movie, even the really big ones, like Bradley Cooper, "Ant-Man" Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, and Elizabeth Banks.

A lot of the newest additions to the gang are all sort of regular collaborators with David Wain and his "State" crew by one or two degrees of separation, like Michaela Watkins, Lake Bell, Paul Scheer, and Rob Huebel, but there will be a few new faces as well. Josh Charles ("The Good Wife"), John Slattery ("Mad Men"), Jayma Mays ("Glee"), and Richard Schiff ("The West Wing") will also be joining us in the arts and crafts tent.

We're still waiting on a premiere date, but in the meantime, be sure to share your fondue and extra sweaters and cans of talking vegetables with the newcomers, okay? Make them feel at home!

Best of Late Night TV: Chris Hemsworth's Sexy Water War, Jessica Chastain's Funny Wrigley's Ad (VIDEO)

Posted:

If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night.

Chris Hemsworth, the reigning Sexiest Man Alive, earned his title Tuesday night on "The Tonight Show." He played "Water War" with Jimmy Fallon, and since the loser had to be water cannoned by the winner, you had to know Thor would lose so we could see him drenched. He even did a little dance as Jimmy hosed him down. Let's just say the audience approved. It's kind of a fun game, too - a twist on the card game War - and they had a laugh about it. Could make a good drinking game, beyond water. Chris also showed off his new shorter haircut in his sit-down interview with Jimmy. (He looks so much like Liam now, no?) Chris talked to Jimmy about the perks of being Sexiest Man Alive. It's actually done him more harm than good, with his friends and family giving him grief. The conversation turned to Chris letting his daughter and nieces paint his nails, as shown in a paparazzi photo. Jessica Chastain, endearingly bubbly, talked to Jimmy Kimmel about her Golden Globes experience. She was right next to the stage so she tried to watch her drinking. She also had a big reaction to Tina and Amy's Bill Cosby joke. In the second video she explains that she used to clean houses and had a ditty to the "Ghostbusters" theme. And you have to see this (fake) "Wrigley's Training Video" ad with Jessica and Jimmy, from early in her acting career. It's very Jimmy Fallon-ish, but also adorably '80s. New Golden Globe winner Patricia Arquette was also on JKL, talking about her win this past weekend for "Boyhood." She's excited for the movie, comparing it to the "Bad News Bears," but she's a tomboy so she hates all the dressing up for awards shows. Michael Strahan was on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" and they had a sports talk about the controversial Dez Byrant call in the Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys game. Olivia Munn - always gorgeous, but looking slightly different for some reason (not in a bad way) - was also on Seth Meyers's show and it turns out Olivia is good friends with Seth's wife. Apparently Seth and his wife are a little too crazy about their dog? He's their child. But that's cute, right? Anderson Cooper was on "Late Show with David Letterman" - there's something about his perfect white hair that's just hypnotic - and he talked about the rally in Paris. Dave and Anderson further discussed the reasoning for why President Barack Obama didn't attend the rally. Anderson wondered why VP Joe Biden didn't go, since "that's basically what vice presidents exist for." If you want more on this debate, click on the video title and read the YouTube comments, since the viewers make some interesting points. Aubrey Plaza discussed the final season of "Parks and Recreation" and her lack of plans after the show. Dave is in the same position. So Aubrey asked if maybe they want to hang out. It's actually a really funny chat. Matt LeBlanc was on "Conan" and it turns out he's been spending time in London to shoot "Episodes." He went to an exhibition and met Prince William and Prince Harry. They asked him about a "Friends" reunion and he calmly told them to "f-ck off." (Not really. He had great delivery on that line, though.) He said they were really cool. He ran into Harry at a bar somewhere too and said he's a lot of fun. He also discussed how Brits love the c-word. Felicity Jones (of "The Theory of Everything") was also on "Conan" and talked about the very sweaty Golden Globes.
