'X-Men: Apocalypse' Casts Jubilee Posted: The X-Men are getting another ally in their ranks. Director Bryan Singer announced via Instagram that newcomer Lana Condor has been cast as Jubilee for the upcoming "X-Men Apocalypse" movie. Jubilee is a fan-favorite character from the animated '90s "X-Men" series, where she was a sort of younger sister to Wolverine and the older mutants. She has the power to emit energy bursts from her hands. Condor joins a slew of actors joining the hit franchise, including Channing Tatum as Gambi, Sophie Turner as a young Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan as a young Cyclops, Alexandra Shipp as a young Storm. The next generation will appear alongside returning stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, and Rose Byrne when "Apocalypse" premieres May 27, 2016. (Don't worry, we won't spoil it here). The ABC Family show has continued to captivate their audience throughout the course of its series, and for good reason. The stars of "Pretty Little Liars" are talented, beautiful, funny -- and that's just the tip of the iceberg. But does that charisma translate away from the hit show? Over 20 million Instagram followers between the four stars says it definitely does. This week's Instagram on Location brings you a look at "Pretty Little Liars" stars Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, and Troian Bellisario behind the curtain. HBO Cancels 'Looking,' Orders Finale Special Posted: HBO is "Looking" no more. The premium cable network canceled the acclaimed, but low-rated dramedy after two seasons. The series will have a chance to wrap up the stories of gay San Franciscans Patrick (Jonathan Groff), Agustin (Frankie J. Alvarez), and Dom (Murray Bartlett) in a finale special. The second season concluded this past Sunday with the characters facing uncertain futures: Patrick was wavering between new boyfriend Kevin (Russell Tovey) and ex Richie (Raul Castillo), while Dom had "broken up" with best friend Doris (Lauren Weedman) as he was preparing to open his own restaurant. "Looking" was never a big hit for HBO; Sunday's finale drew just 298,000 viewers (compare that to the "Girls" finale that same night, which drew 687,000 viewers) "After two years of following Patrick and his tight-knit group of friends as they explored San Francisco in search of love and lasting relationships, HBO will present the final chapter of their journey as a special," the network announced in a statement. "We look forward to sharing this adventure with the shows loyal fans." This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |

Idris Elba in Talks to Be the 'Star Trek 3' Villain Posted: The buzz around Hollywood is that Idris Elba is in the running to be the main villain in "Star Trek 3." Variety reports that the "Luther" star is in "early talks" for the role, although there's no more info on what the role will be or who exactly the Big Bad of "Star Trek 3" will be. In February, a rumor surfaced that Bryan Cranston was being eyed for the role of the villain, but maybe there's more than one villain? The more, the merrier! There are a ton of possible villains for "Star Trek 3," from Klingons to the Borg, so writers Simon Pegg (yes, that Simon Pegg) and Doug Jung have plenty to choose from. "Star Trek 3" will star Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, and Anton Yelchin. There have been some interesting behind-the-scenes changes since the film was first announced a few years ago, such as Justin Lin replacing Roberto Orci in the director's seat. Orci was also attached to co-write the script with his former creative partner Alex Kurtzman. In any case, "Star Trek 3" is reportedly still on track to begin filming in June. Arnold Schwarzenegger Protects His Zombie Daughter in the 'Maggie' Trailer Posted: Arnold Schwarzenegger is joining the Dadcore movement of action heroes with the upcoming horror drama "Maggie." Schwarzenegger stars as an everyday guy in the Midwest whose daughter Maggie, played by Abigail Breslin, is infected with a deadly virus. It will take a few weeks for Maggie to turn into a full-on "Walking Dead" zombie with a taste for brains, at which time Wade (Schwarzenegger) is supposed to turn her over to be quarantined. It looks like Wade's got other ideas, though. Does he have a special set of skills that will keep his undead daughter in check? We'll have to tune in to find out! "Maggie," which is the directorial debut of Henry Hobson, premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival. It will open in theaters on May 8. Bradley Cooper in Talks to Direct 'A Star is Born' Posted: Bradley Cooper is reportedly in serious talks with Warner Bros. to make his directorial debut with a remake of "A Star is Born." His "American Sniper" boss Clint Eastwood was previously attached to direct with none other than pop superstar Beyoncé lined up as the female lead, but that fell through a few years ago. Will Warner Bros. be able to convince Queen Bey to give it another shot? The original musical was a glossy David O. Selznick production from 1937, starring Janet Gaynor and Fredric March as an aspiring actress and her aging paramour. It was first remade in 1954 with Judy Garland and James Mason, and then remade/rebooted in 1976 with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson as rockers instead of actors. Whether or not Cooper will also star is up in the air, as is whether or not WB will approach Beyoncé for the role once again. It would be fabulous to see her in such a legendary role, but she's a busy Bey. [Via The Hollywood Reporter] This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
This 'Entourage' Trailer Is Full of Stars (VIDEO) Posted: HBO's "Entourage" is headed to the big screen this summer, bringing Vince and his boys and all their Hollywood antics to theaters across the nation. Vince (Adrian Grenier) is making his directorial debut that's already over budget, Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) is making moves on UFC champ Ronda Rousey, and the other guys are up to, well, whatever it is that they do. Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) is looking as tan and rich as usual. Naturally, the trailer is full of booze and boats and partying hard. It's also jam-packed with stars; Jessica Alba and Pharrell show up, and even Liam Neeson lends a hand... Sort of. Even Mark Wahlberg shows up. "Entourage" hits the big screen on June 5. Posted: If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night. "Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) was on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Tuesday night, and one of her videos included a clip from Season 5, which starts in just a couple of weeks on HBO. Maisie started playing Arya when she was 12, which is too young to watch the show, but she watched it with her whole family. They had to get her gran drunk when the boob scenes came on! She trained herself to sword-fight left-handed, since that's how Arya was written and that's what the fans expected. She admitted she hasn't read the GoT books ("A Song of Ice and Fire"), though. The second video shares the GoT clip with Arya in Braavos. Kevin Hart was on "Conan" and shared his disastrous "SNL" audition. He was rejected from the show after doing an impression of somebody nobody knew; it lasted about two seconds, and he acted like it was awesome. Kevin also talked about working with Will Ferrell, who is in the top two of the people he's ever worked with. Will is a great guy - "cheap as hell, though" and has never spent a penny. He's still using the first BlackBerry they ever made, it's taped up and looks like a dog ate it. Will is also one of the worst dressers he's ever met. Poor Will! Kevin loves to spend money on clothes but gets offended if people don't notice that his clothes are expensive. Haha. Elizabeth Banks - she's hilarious - was on "The Tonight Show" and arranged a marriage between her sons and Jimmy Fallon's daughters. She also talked about FaceTiming with her kids. Jimmy also shared "Freestylin' with The Roots: Spring Edition." Ben Stiller was on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" to talk about his new movie "While We're Young." One of the Beastie Boys is in the movie and Ben performed live with the Beastie Boys a few years ago. It was the most nervous he's ever been. He's a huge fan. Seth quizzed Ben on Beastie Boys lyrics. Ben also talked about the long-awaited sequel to "Zoolander" and taking tennis lessons in Rome. Elisha Cuthbert was on "Late Night" and shared her craziest "24" fan story - about a pregnant fan who pushed her first birth back so she could watch the show. Bill O'Reilly was on David Letterman's "Late Show" and talked about Brian Williams and accusations of false claims. He boiled it down to America's beloved sport, "Let's Destroy the Famous Person." He thinks Brian will come back. What Bill does is very different from what Brian does - editorial vs. hard news - but Dave said trust is at the heart of both viewpoints. Bill also discussed Ted Cruz and Hillary Clinton. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
