Did Patrick Stewart Just Confirm That Professor X Is in 'Wolverine 3'?

Posted:

Professor X himself says that he will join Wolverine on the big screen, one last time.

While promoting his new TV series, "Blunt Talk," on Thursday, Patrick Stewart revealed to Collider that Professor X will have more than a cameo in Hugh Jackman's last film as the most popular member of the X-Men.

"There is a project in development. I understand that Professor Xavier will be making more than an appearance, however, and that intrigues me," Stewart said.

He also hinted that the storyline for the film will be that of the rumored "Old Man Logan" comic, which is basically "Unforgiven" starring an older Wolverine in a post-apocalyptic world. (Um, yes, please.)

"The idea of an old Wolverine -- I'm really looking forward to Hugh Jackman getting old," Stewart teased. "So I'm hoping to see him covered in prosthetics, you know? And then he'll make me look better if that's the case."

This is less of a confirmation of the storyline, and more of proof that the actor seems to be aware of the idea of a movie centering on an older Logan -- whose healing factor helps him age slower than normal folk.

So while the jury is still out (ish) on whether or not "Old Man Logan" will inspire Wolverine's third solo film, you can count on the elder Charles Xavier appearing opposite his most famous pupil when the untitled film hits theaters March 3, 2017.

Here's Your First Look at Tom Hiddleston as Hank Williams

Posted:

HANK WILLIAMSAudiences will have to wait until November to see Tom Hiddleston's full performance as country music legend Hank Williams in biopic "I Saw the Light," but Sony Pictures Classics has given fans a glimpse of the actor in character in the first photo from the flick.

The studio released the picture on its Facebook page, revealing Hiddleston-as-Williams for the first time. It's a striking shot (most likely modeled on the above photo of the real Williams), proving that at least physically, the actor best known as the Marvel Universe's Loki was the right pick for part.

But can Hiddleston back up his looks with some singing chops? It seems the likely answer is yes. The actor made the rounds at some music festivals late last year, popping up with surprise performances of Williams classics "Move It On Over" and "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry," and he certainly seemed to nail the tunes. We're eager to see what else he has up his sleeve in the flick.

"I Saw the Light" also stars Elizabeth Olsen as Williams's wife, and chronicles the singer's rise to fame and untimely death at age 29. It's set to hit theaters on November 27.

'Modern Family' Star Ariel Winter Reveals Breast Reduction Surgery

Posted:

2015 iHeartRadio Music Awards - ArrivalsGrowing up in the public eye is never easy, and that's something that "Modern Family" star Ariel Winter knows all too well. In an interview with Glamour, Winter revealed that she recently had breast reduction surgery to correct years of back pain -- but she also suffered psychologically, too, thanks to a barrage of nasty comments about her overly-voluptuous appearance.

The 17-year-old actress opened up to the magazine about her decision to reduce her size 32F breasts to 34D, explaining that a growth spurt at age 15 resulted in a sudden, attention-grabbing change in her physique. Per Glamour:

"It really did happen overnight," Winter says of her breast development. "I remember being in my sister's wedding and being so flat and thinking, 'I just wish I would grow boobs!' and then overnight I did. But then they kept growing and growing and growing and it didn't seem like they were going to stop." It's hard enough being a teenager in life, but being on one of the most popular and critically-acclaimed sitcoms drew heightened interest. "I was 15 years old with [size] F [breasts]," recounts Winter. "It's like, 'How do you navigate that?'"

Winter said that she would often battle excruciating physical pain thanks to the strain on her neck, back, and spine. Long hours standing on the "Modern Family" set were particularly rough, she told Glamour, but hurtful remarks from the internet commentariat were just as cutting.

"That's pretty much all I was known for and that upset me," Winter said of her former physique. "It made me feel really uncomfortable because as women in the industry, we are totally over-sexualized and treated like objects. Every article that has to do with me on a red carpet always had to do with 'Ariel Winter's Crazy Cleavage!' Or 'Ariel Winter Shows Huge Boobs At An Event!' That's all people would recognize me by, not, 'Oh, she does great work on "Modern Family."'"

In the end, Winter said, she got the surgery "for myself," adding, "I can't even really put it into words about how amazing it feels to really feel right." Now, more than two months after her June 4 procedure, the actress says she "feels like a new person," and is looking forward to picking out a dress for next month's Emmys ceremony.

"I'm excited to finally actually feel confident [on the red carpet] and not just appear confident," Winter told Glamour.

Jimmy Fallon Will Host 'The Tonight Show' for Six More Years (at Least)

Posted:

Kristen Stewart Visits Jimmy Fallon is sticking with "Tonight" for tonight, tomorrow, and every night after that for the foreseeable future.

NBC announced on Thursday at a Television Critics Association press tour event that Fallon would remain host of "The Tonight Show" for at least six more seasons, having just closed a deal with the network. Considering how much NBC loves Fallon, though, it seems a safe bet that his tenure will be much longer.

NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt made that apparent during Thursday's TCA event, fawning over Fallon in a conversation with reporters.

"Jimmy Fallon is still simply the best that there is -- the most versatile star of a show anywhere on television," Greenblatt said. "'The Tonight Show' has always been an institution for us, but he's remade it into a destination for the largest audience anywhere in late night. Obviously we didn't want Jimmy going anywhere... I know I speak for [NBC CEO and President] Steve Burk and everybody at NBC how elated we all are that he's going to be around for a long time in the role I think he was born to play."

In addition to Fallon's ratings domination, he's also a hit online, too, frequently posting viral videos of celebs engaging in silly games like Lip Sync Battle, Catchphrase, Box of Lies, and other quirky gags (not to mention Fallon's patented musical parodies and covers, which he also scored with back in his "Late Night" days). It's a no-brainer for NBC to hang on to its biggest current star.

Fallon's new contract will keep him on the air through the fall of 2021.

The 'Goodnight Mommy' Trailer Will Scare the Crap Out of You

Posted:

There's nothing good about the "Goodnight Mommy" trailer. Better words to describe it are creepy, haunting, confusing, and -- more than anything else -- nightmare-inducing.

While the trailer plays coy with the plot, we do know a thing or two about "Mommy." The story centers on twin boys whose mother comes home to their idyllic country home after having undergone what appears to be a very extensive array of cosmetic surgeries (hey, nothing wrong with a little nip-tuck these days). The twist? Momma's a bit different now -- in more than just the looks department -- and the boys start to suspect an "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" type situation. Also, cockroaches are somehow involved.

The trailer sets a very clear, horrific tone, and with plenty of creepy shots and an established, eery ambience, "Goodnight Mommy" will surely bring a lot to the party in the visual department, but will the movie truly bring the scares? Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Watch the trailer, get creeped out, and catch the movie when it hits theaters September 11, 2015.

Will Smith Is Producing a 'Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' Reboot: Report

Posted:

WILL SMITH'90s kids, rejoice: "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" is getting a reboot.

That's according to TVLine, which reports that a reboot of the beloved sitcom is currently "in the very early stages of development." And what's more, none other than titular star Will Smith is on board for the project.

Sadly, Smith's involvement is strictly in a production capacity, but still, it stands to reason that if the Fresh Prince himself is working on the show, it has to be as good as the original, right? According to TVLine, Smith will produce through his Overbrook Entertainment banner, and the project will be shopped around to networks soon.

There's no official synopsis yet, per TVLine's report, but the show will be "a present-day 'Fresh Prince' reboot that puts a new spin on the fish-out-of-water tale while maintaining the spirit of the original series." The site also notes that it's not yet clear whether this new version "will be a straight reboot along the lines of 'Hawaii Five-0,' or a revival/continuation a la Netflix's 'Fuller House.'"

Regardless of either scenario, there's going to be plenty of excitement about this series. That's still no guarantee that the show will get picked up, but we're betting that if "Coach" can make a comeback, Smith and co. should have a pretty good shot, too.

Stay tuned.

'Sesame Street' Is Relocating to HBO (But PBS Will Still Air Reruns)

Posted:

sesame street, big bird"Sesame Street" is moving to a swankier neighborhood, trading in public access for premium cable in a new partnership that will see all new episodes of the classic kids show air first on HBO, before airing as reruns on current home PBS.

The New York Times reports that the move was a necessary one for Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit that produces the show, since revenues from the series's main source of income, DVD sales, has declined steadily in the age of streaming and on-demand viewing. (Only about one-third of total "Sesame" viewers actually watch the show on PBS, versus other streaming/on-demand outlets, according to NYT.) Under the terms of the new deal, HBO will air new episodes of the next five seasons of "Sesame Street" on its namesake channel, HBO Go, HBO On Demand, and the HBO Now app; after nine months, the episodes will be made available for free as reruns on PBS.

While that trade-off may seem a bit unfair to the low-income families that make up a significant portion of "Sesame's" audience, the deal does have some perks: With HBO's budgetary backing, "Sesame" will now be able to produce 35 new episodes per season, instead of the 18 it currently makes, and a spin-off series featuring the show's characters is also in the works. PBS will also continue to air older episodes of "Sesame" during the upcoming fall season, re-editing existing, classic episodes for a new generation of pint-sized fans.

Per NYT:

"Sesame Workshop's new partnership does not change the fundamental role PBS and stations play in the lives of families," Anne Bentley, a PBS spokeswoman, said in a statement, noting that PBS stations reach more children ages 2 to 5, more mothers of children under 6 and more low-income children than any children's TV network, according to Nielsen.

...

Jeffrey D. Dunn, chief executive of Sesame Workshop, said that the partnership with HBO would allow the group to continue to produce "Sesame Street" and to further its mission to help educate children.

"The partnership is really a great thing for kids," Mr. Dunn said. "We're getting revenues we otherwise would not have gotten, and with this we can do even more content for kids."

The deal is also a boon for HBO, which has been lagging behind streaming giants like Netflix and Amazon in the children's programming game (consequently, that means that existing episodes of "Sesame" on those other platforms will now be pulled). "Sesame Street" is easily the most-recognizable kids show brand on the planet, so it's a smart investment for the premium cable outlet.

It remains to be seen, however, if loyal viewers -- on whatever the platform -- will be as happy as the new partners. Like a basic math lesson straight out of "Sesame," it's hard not to see a difference between free vs. the hefty HBO price tag. Here's hoping those classic episodes that will still air on PBS in the coming months can fill the nine-month void of new content.

Dolph Lundgren Is Filming 'Kindergarten Cop 2'?!

Posted:

Premiere Of Lionsgate Films' So, first of all, there is going to be a "Kindergarten Cop 2." Second of all, Dolph Lundgren is starring in it.

To prove this is a real thing, Manly Movies (h/t Slashfilm) has pictures of the '80s action star filming the movie in Vancouver. The sequel has a similar set-up to 1990 original starring Arnold Schwarzenegger: Lundgren goes undercover as a kindergarten teacher to track down a missing flash drive from the Witness Protection Program. Apparently, this time, he's got a sidekick named Sanjit and the bad guys are Albanian. Oh, and there's a beautiful teacher that hits it off with Lundgren, of course.

It seems like "Kindergarten Cop 2" will be a straight-to-DVD / digital release flick; it's directed by the guy who did "Jarhead 2: Field of Fire" and penned by the writer behind "American Pie 2."

Hey, at least Dolph's still chasing down bad guys in something.

'Ride Along 2' Trailer: Kevin Hart and Ice Cube Are Back to Catch the Bad Guys

Posted:

Ride Along 2Ready to "Ride Along" with Kevin Hart and Ice Cube again? Then, buckle up!

The boys are back in the new trailer for "Ride Along 2," the sequel to their hit buddy-cop comedy. This time around, Hart's Ben has graduated from the police academy, and he's partnered up with his soon-to-be brother-in-law, James (Cube).

They hit the road to Miami to track a fugitive criminal (Ken Jeong), and there, they have to team up with Olivia Munn's detective to take down one of the city's biggest drug dealers (Benjamin Bratt).
"Ride Along" was an out-of-nowhere mega-hit, raking in $153 million worldwide. The sequel looks like it hits all the same notes - Hart is bumbling and inexperienced, while Cube is foreboding and temperamental. The two play off of each other so well, and they've got great new ensemble members to add to the mix.

"Ride Along" opens in theaters January 15.

NBC Confirms the Rumored 'Xena' Reboot and Lucy Lawless Reacts

Posted:

Xena"Xena: Warrior Princess" is definitely getting a makeover!

NBC confirmed that it is moving forward with a reboot of the cult fave fantasy action series. "Yes, we're in the early stages of developing a new take on 'Xena' and we're looking for a writer. We want to do it," NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt told The Hollywood Reporter.

There's been some back and forth on a possible new "Xena," with original series star Lucy Lawless tweeting that all the talk was just rumor. Now, it seems plans are solidifying, as NBC develops the project with producers Robert Tapert (Lawless's husband) and Sam Raimi.

As THR notes, the new Xena would combine the "charisma and charm of Lawless and the smarts of 'The Hunger Games' Katniss," but the exact direction of the character and series would be up to the writer.

As for how Lawless might figure into the new series, which is targeted for 2016, Greenblatt said, "We'd love to have Lucy be a part of it - if we felt that her presence didn't overshadow the direction we take with it. I'm not sure how she could be part of it if she wasn't playing Xena, and I don't know if that's a direction we'll ever go."

Lawless herself didn't weigh in on her involvement, but did commend the fans for stoking the "Xena" fire:

Bradley Cooper Wants to Cook His Way to Immortality in 'Burnt' Trailer

Posted:

BurntFood can transport you to another time and place. In "Burnt," Bradley Cooper hopes it'll take him to immortality.

In the new trailer for the drama, Cooper plays Adam Jones, a bad-boy chef with two Michelin stars. His temper and drug problem cause him to lose everything, but now he's back to open his own restaurant, get that third Michelin star, and gain the glory he's sought his entire life.

"The kitchen's the only place I've ever felt like I belonged," he says. "I love every minute of it - the heat, the pressure, the violence."

The story sounds a lot like that of Anthony Bourdain, one-time bad-boy chef who wrote about his experiences in a book called "Kitchen Confidential," that was then turned into a short-lived TV show of the same way. Which Cooper starred in. So, he had some experience for this movie.

"Burnt" also stars Sienna Miller, Matthew Rhys, Uma Thurman and Emma Thompson, and opens in theaters October 23.

'Deadwood' Movie Might Actually Get Made After All

Posted:

DeadwoodIs "Deadwood" coming back from the dead?

The HBO series ran for three seasons and was canceled in 2006. At the time, there was talk of completing the drama with two movies, but nothing came of the matter (on a personal note: still mad about that).

Now, there are new rumblings that a movie might get made. Actor Garret Dillahunt (who played Jack McCall, then later Francis Wolcott) lit the first match on Twitter: "WHAT?! Please be true!" responded Twitter and the rest of the Internet.

To that, an HBO spokesperson only said, "In reference to Garret Dillahunt's tweet regarding the rumored 'Deadwood movie,' there have only been very preliminary conversations."

OK, so, a possible movie is in the very early stages, but we can't help but be excited. And perhaps the stars are finally aligned for one to get made. And by that, we mean that Timothy Olyphant is done with "Justified" and Ian McShane is coming back to HBO anyway to do a short stint on "Game of Thrones." And creator David Milch's last pilot, "Money," was passed over, so perhaps he finally has time to write the ending "Deadwood" fans deserve.

As Dillahunt said, #EverybodyPray.

Best of Late Night TV: Ruby Rose's Justin Bieber Look and Connie Britton's 'Friday Night Lights' Wine Drinking

Posted:

If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night.

Look, being Superman isn't easy. Between the pressure to have a six pack and the pressure to, like, save lives all day, Henry Cavill has it rough. His dietary restrictions are intense to say the least, and he discussed them with fan-boy Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show," who literally uttered the phrase "your arm is the size of my leg."

Reba McEntire also showed up on "The Tonight Show," and decided to "close up serenade" an audience member. It was weird, but also amazing.

Rita Ora swung by "Late Night" to chat about playing a crack addict in "Southpaw," and discussed the awkward time she got to set and everyone assumed she'd already been in hair and makeup for her "crack addict look." Well, that's enough to traumatize someone.

Connie Britton also hit up "Late Night" and reacted to Amy Schumer's "Friday Night Lights" skit. Turns out Coach's wife and her glass of wine was Britton's idea, which is the best news ever.

Finally, Ruby Rose stopped by "Conan" and wasted no time discussing the fact that she looks just like Justin Bieber. And also, she told Conan he looks like Tilda Swinton and Meryl Streep. Er, that's a compliment, right?
