Shortly after the release of Taken 2, Liam Neeson doubted a Taken 3 would happen: "I don't think it's going to happen. I really don't. I can't see a possible scenario where audiences wouldn't go, 'Oh, come on…! She's taken again?' Turns out, Taken 3 will happen.

Deadline reports that Olivier Megaton (Taken 2) will be back in the director's chair. Neeson and Maggie Grace are reprising their roles and Forest Whitaker (Bloodsport) is currently in negotiations to join the cast. Although there are no plot details, the script for Taken 3, written by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen, is complete.

We'll keep you posted about Taken 3. In the meantime, if you can't wait to see Neeson kick ass again, you can catch him in Non-Stop, which will be released on February 28, 2014.

Update: Collider reports (via Bleeding Cool) that Neeson is promising a "really, really good story.” He’s also quoted as saying that when he received the phone call to do Taken 3, he said: "I'll do it… but only as long as nobody gets Taken." | According to Collider, both Famke Janssen and Maggie Grace will return for Taken 3.

BREAKING NEWS: During a recent interview with Collider, Luc Besson, writer/producer of Taken 3 says: “The third film is another story that has nothing to do with him and his family. No one is taken. The dog is not taken. It's another story with the same characters. It's different, but it's very good. It's probably the best of the three for me, in terms of the script.” Taken 3 is current filming and has a target release date for January 9, 2015.

New photos of Schwarzenegger in the ‘Terminator’ reboot

THE MOVIE: Skydance Productions, Annapurna Pictures and Paramount Pictures have announced a 5th Terminator movie called Terminator: Genesis. The upcoming movie will be directed by Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) and stars Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jai Courtney (A Good Day to Die Hard), Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty).

Updates: The working title is Terminator: Gensis. | Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty) is the new John Conner. In addition, there’s also a new TV series in the works, which will be based on the upcoming movie. | Deadline reports that Emilia Clarke will play Sarah Connor in the Terminator reboot, re-teaming with director Alan Taylor, who has worked with Clarke in Game of Thrones. | Variety reports that Jai Courtney (A Good Day to Die Hard) will be playing Kyle Reese, previously played by Michael Biehn.

According to Empire’s sources, the Terminator: Genesis story bears comparison to Back To The Future 2, which you’ll recall partly involves our heroes rushing ingeniously around and within the events of the first film.

Here’s what Arnold Schwarzenegger told TheArnoldFans.com: ”We start filming in the middle or in the end of April and it will be a 4 1/2 month long shoot… I'm really looking forward to that because as you know, the last time when they did the Terminator, it was when I was Governor and so I couldn't be in that movie but now I'm back again and they are very excited about having me in the film… I'm really looking forward to that and it's going to come out on July 4th weekend in 2015. The movie preparation is going well. The script is fantastic so I'm really looking forward to this film." | According to Collider, J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man, Extract) is in talks to join Terminator: Genesis.

In a recent interview with Collider, Arnold Schwarzenegger says he's "honored" that studios have called him back to reprise his iconic roles in movies like Terminator, Legend of Conan and Twins 2. Especially in a world where characters are constantly replaced by new actors (i.e. James Bond, Spider-man). He also says that the new Terminator movie "has the same feel" as Terminator 2 (he’s obviously judging by its script).

In a recent interview with MTV (via Collider), Schwarzenegger explains his new portrayal of the iconic killing machine: "The way that the character is written, it's a machine underneath; It's this metal skeleton. But above that is human flesh. And the Terminator's flesh ages, just like any other human being's flesh. Maybe not as fast. But it definitely ages… Terminator deals a lot with time travel, so there will be a younger T-800… and then what that model does later on when it gets reprogrammed, and who gets a hold of him. So it will be all kinds of interesting twists in the movie, but I feel so good."

According to Metro (via expendablespremier.com), after the first film of the new Terminator trilogy is complete, parts 2 and 3 will be filmed back-to-back in a period of over 9 months. In addition, Dayo Okeniyi (Hunger Games) has signed on to play the role of Miles Dyson (previously played by Joe Morton in T2).

Collider reports that Byung-hun Lee (I Saw the Devil), Michael Gladis (Knights of Badassdom) and Sandrine Holt (Once a Thief TV series) have joined the cast.
