Reel TV: Fox Moves Forward On Their 'X-Men' TV Show

Posted: 24 Jan 2017 09:00 PM PST

Superheroes have already taken over the big screen and now they're increasingly invading the small screen as well. The CW is home to a raft of great shows set in the DC Comics universe. Marvel has extended the fringes of its cinematic universe onto Netflix. And now Fox is getting in the game with a new X-Men show. This show, which still doesn't have a title, is actually the second X-Men related show in the works, but there's a big distinction between this coming Fox show and FX' Legion. The latter, which premiers in February, is divorced from the larger world of the X-Men and in particular has nothing to do with the movie franchise. The Fox show, however, is coming from the same producing team as the movies, including longtime X-Men stalwart Bryan Singer. The...

Daisy Ridley to Play a Real Life Spy In 'A Woman of No Importance'

Posted: 24 Jan 2017 07:00 PM PST

Most people today won't know the name Virginia Hall. Then again, during World War II, most people who met Virginia Hall didn't even know her name. She went by a string of different aliases while working undercover for the United States' Office of Strategic Services (which would later become the CIA). She spent the war traversing enemy lines, covertly mapping out drop zones, feeding intel to British commandos, and even training Resistance fighters in the ways of guerrilla warfare. She did all this despite the fact that half of her leg had been amputated after a shooting accident. Virginia Hall was, to put it bluntly, a badass. And soon she'll be played on the big screen by one of our new favorite heroines, The Force Awakens breakout Daisy Ridley. Deadline...

'Every Which Way But Loose' Is Getting a Remake

Posted: 24 Jan 2017 05:30 PM PST

Tell someone that Every Which Way but Loose is getting remade and they may give you a bit of an "er, which movie is that again?" face. It is an odd, easily confused title for a movie, after all. It's not as distinct as, say, A Nightmare on Elm Street. Tell someone that they're remaking the movie where Clint Eastwood has a pet orangutan, though, and they'll know exactly what you're talking about. You can't really confuse that combination with any other movie (except, of course, the sequel, Any Which Way You Can). Original director James Fargo is producing the remake, which will be directed by Anthony G. Cohen who made last year's straight-to-VOD body swap comedy The Sex Trip. They haven't cast anyone in the Eastwood role yet, so this project...

Jurassic World resurrected Steven Spielberg's dinosaur franchise, imagining a theme park that posed all manner of new dangers when the operators decide to introduce a new type of attraction to boost sagging attendance.
