He's shown us the casual horrors of a dystopian future in Children of Men. He's taken us into outer space and used Gravity as a roller coaster, a nightmare, and a savior. Abrams Wishes He Were Making It Posted: 23 Dec 2015 04:00 PM PST We're just starting to absorb the impact that Star Wars: The Force Awakens has already made on popular culture, which is why it's wild to realize that the next Star Wars movie will open in theaters in less than a year. Already in production, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is a spin-off movie that promises to be a distinct entity, set in a time period just before the original Star Wars in 1977. But that's not all! | 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Just Nabbed a Best Picture Nomination Posted: 23 Dec 2015 02:00 PM PST In a rare move, the Broadcast Film Critics Association -- citing an outcry from its membership base following late-in-the-season screenings -- has bent its rules to include Star Wars: The Force Awakens among its nominated films for Best Picture. A special vote was held among members this week, ultimately pushing The Force Awakens into the race alongside the other ten movies already nominated. | Movie News: Kurt Russell Talks 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2,' Watch 'Deadpool' Explain IMAX Posted: 23 Dec 2015 12:00 PM PST Guardians of the Galaxy 2: Kurt Russsell confirmed last week's report that he is under consideration for a role in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy 2. He also confessed to Gunn that he had not yet seen the first installment: "Many times I’ve heard ‘That’s a really fun movie, a really good movie [with] great characters.’ I don’t know it! … I just had to be honest." Russell told Gunn he appreciated being considered but would need to see the first movie and read the new script before deciding if he had anything to offer.
